Default 992 Cab in Racing Yellow

Hello All,

Just placed the order for my first Porsche - a 992 Cabriolet in racing yellow with black top and interior. I'm really excited and I think it looks great but boy am I catching a lot of heat from my other Porsche driving friends about this color. Admittedly I've not seen a RY 911 in person. Has anyone seen one in the flesh that have any strong opinions about it? Thanks! Good to be part of this community.

Excellent choice. There are numerous threads about bright colors on 911s. There is no consensus except for get what pleases YOU! Yellow is actually a traditional color for Porsche over the years. There is a reason that Porsche launched the 992 with journalists using many YELLOW cars. If your friends give you grief, get a psychologist to analyze the situation and he/she will give you following diagnosis - your friends don't have the ***** to do the same so they belittle you. Their excuse is "I don't want the attention" Whatever. One could make arguments against getting getting Chalk too, which is nothing more than "paint primer grey." So just ignore it all.

And finally, I myself have a 992 on order in racing yellow. Why? Because I simply love the color on that car. And the yellow - black combination is quite sporting.

It's a fantastic color and it's a classic Porsche color. Enjoy!
The world doesn't need more black or silver 911s.

I feel the same way. But if I don't get my C2S MT allocation soon, I may have to give-in and get something monochromatic off the lot

It’s a beautiful rich yellow. I always stare when I see one. You will not be disappointed.

Default RY 992 C2S

22 years ago my 4 Yr old Son accompanied me to buy a 911.
I gave him the choice and he selected a 911 C2S in a rare color Pastel Yellow
This time I decided a 992 in Racing Yellow
I have had any 911s over 30 years in Black and Silver but the Yellow ones are my favorites

Racing yellow is the best colour, especially with the sport design front fascia.

Hell yes, RY is a beautiful. My previous 992 4S was in this and if I had not already had it then my TTS would have been this colour.

Its a great color...had similar in Speed Yellow for a 987 Boxster back in the day. Very noticeable and you will get attention. My friends always knew where I was as did my wife and my mistress! LOL. JOKING! But my boss and everyone I worked with did know if I left work early so there are some benefits and ah intangibles to having a bright color. Porsche's will always be noticed by some...its the brand but certain colors do amplify that. If you're okay with that go for it.

Or they simply think bright yellow is ugly and don't want their cars in crayon colors.

Racing yellow is a beautiful colour...and ages well. I would absolutely buy a car in that colour of the opportunity presented itself in the model and option build I liked...

Went through a similar internal debate when ordering my MY20 992. AG is an interning color and much more subtle. BUT, it was me neighbor's GR 781C that convinced me. Every time I saw it, I didn't think "showoff" or "compensating," rather it was what a stunning color. As has been expressed many, many times on RL, buy what speaks to you. Its your car, not theirs . . .
