In prep of a ducktail install, I used the PWIS and changed the vehicle data to AEROKIT which disabled the active wing and took care of the 3rd brake light error.

I still see the active tail present in the PCM even though it is greyed out. I haven’t been able to find specific coding instructions to eliminate it from the PCM completely.

Any tips?

Yes, that is normal.

It can be coded out, that’s what I’m looking to do.

Please do post when you figure it out so I can make the adjustments using my PIWIS.

Hi guys,

I came across Softronics company which can remap my 992 T from stock to 450 PS or 485 PS, without changing hardware, eg. Turbos.

sounds like an attractive proposition, as I am after 450PS option.

is there something I should be aware of?

This is the wrong thread for that. Search for the relevant tune threads.

I read somewhere that "nominal" voltage for the Li battery is 13.2V. That's what my dash displays most of the time, goes a little higher if the battery is charging(rare cause I have on trickle charger in the garage). I've used a Voltage fixed point of around 13.5-13.7V on my flash power supply when I code, that should be OK??

Apologies, it is a DIY kit that comes with its own ‘coding device’ and cable that plugs into the diagnostic port. So it is vaguely related to “coding 992”, just specific to the engine management unit.

However, I take your point, there should be dedicated thread.

I am aware. I have the Softronic tune on my car. There are threads for tunes, just search for them. This is a coding thread. They aren’t the same.

The English language can be so confusing. I suppose "coding" could be interpreted as "tuning" depending on which side of the pond you're from...

@Pivot I think this thread is dedicated to making changes to the software that is already in the car using PIWIS to change headlights, warning displays etc. rather than "tuning" the ECU for increased performance.

Yea, agreed. I am not arguing, just extra context. I saw it as software / firmware change to the car. I would expect PIWIS to be able to do that as well.

We (end customers) don’t do tuning; Engineering shops and racing teams do tuning and provide version control for reference. We tend to replace the software version, with differently mapped: ignition-, fuel-, valve-timing, … for diff characteristics.

Thanks guys for the references and feedback. US market is more advanced in this space, as I believe you have regulation forcing OEM to open up the black boxes for the US market. Hence the neophyte questions from other territories

The safe bet is to use a lithium charger and pre-charge the battery up to the intended programming voltage before flipping it to power supply mode at that same voltage.
It is also a POWER SUPPLY. I have a similar apparatus. It does not matter if the battery is a little low. The PS provides a steady system voltage for diagnostics rather than relying on battery power.

On most, you input the desired system voltage to be maintained and the PS starts at around 12.5v and gradually increases to the set voltage. Mine takes about 30 seconds to do this as I normally code at 13.6v. The PS is not delivering anywhere near its rated amperage to maintain the system’s voltage at the set point. It is not in charging mode. Totally different process.

I have posted the instructions on one of the Aerokit threads, but basically you need to code all the relevant modules after you change the vehicle maintenance data. This tells all the other modules the new information, including the PCM, to not look for the old wing. If you are successful, there will be no rear spoiler option in the PCM, not just greyed-out.
Let me know if you need any other help.

Where did you post those instructions? Was it the OEM 9-page coding document?
