I skipped the middle tube. I don't have the dexterity. Was never an issue and hit track speeds many time.
I left these on my car when i traded it b/c i wasn't sure I that trim piece would make it through one more in and out. It is tricky but doable by anyone with a little patience and finesse.

I did the center support and wished I had a trained spider monkey to help me. I also agree that I'm not sure if it is really needed. Perhaps if the grille is hit by something substantial in the middle but even then I'm not sure how much it is helping. With the "Pro" install another thing some might take issue with is seeing the support. Not an issue to me, but installing without is arguably a cleaner look.

I just ordered the RGS grill. I like that it mimics the GT car grills. Not looking forward to the install; let me know if anyone knows someone in the DC Metro that can do for a couple hundred bucks.

Just finished RGS install on my car. As mentioned all over, you have to pull just a little harder than seems prudent to get the center clips out. The rest is pretty easy though. I honestly wouldn't risk pulling on someone elses car's clips, but I'm in the DC Area, and would be happy to help with the rest. It's a 30 minute job tops, so not worth a few hundred bucks. I'm guessing a dealer would do it though. Probably someone like autotherapy or intersport too.

Agree completely with the prior post. The clips have some pliability to them so (unless in a really cold environment) they should release pretty easy as mine did. The hardest parts are the middle zip-tie "pro" install which really isn't necessary and getting the tabs at the end of the slat cover back into the bumper. I would try the install if I were you.

I abandoned the project, as I was bending the clips way too much, and didn’t feel like breaking one.

if anyone is interested in my set, just pay shipping and they’re yours. You’ll need a few black zip ties, but the screens are in tact, never installed.

I gave up, too. Purchased and installed a competitor’s product. Wire mesh thicker. Cost more (shipping?) but no bumper removal and install easier than RGS. No proprietary zip ties, either.

How do they get installed? I can't imagine how they'd be easier.

Why don't you wait a little bit until RGS posts the new install.@RGS Any ETA? Thanks.

what did you go with? I’d love a different option.

hard to explain, but basically the zip
ties make a trim piece slightly thicker. When you try to put the overlay on that trim piece, it’s tough to get it all to fit.

that’s probably a poor description.

my main problem was on their install video, they literally cut out all the most difficult parts to make them appear to be easier to install. Obv they are still selling them with happy customers, so perhaps it’s me.

and I’m ok with that. I never asked for a refund or anything because my own tentativeness to forcefully snap in plastic trim pieces on my new $191,000 car probably contributed to my failed install.

meh I’m just ready to try a different product. I bent the sh*t out of my trim pieces and they were showing signs they were gonna fail, so before I had to buy new parts, I just threw in the towel. I don’t think an updated video seems like priority to them, and that’s ok by me.

I tried and it just didn’t work out. I’m sure they can work for someone else.

Have you looked at Zunsport as an option.

Zunsport installed, nice attractive package, but the clip system on the bottom grill would not stop something substantial from doing damage to the radiator. The top grill depends on the small plastic trim piece to prevent the same issue. Leaves, small pebbles etc. all good but as a solution to expensive damage not.

Oh. So its three pieces and installs with screws. Yea. That seems much easier to install. I prefer the hexagon pattern of RGS though.
