I thought about the Blendmount for my V1 but I really don’t want the blockage below the mirror. I’ve been using the suction cup mount that came with the V1 to the left of the mirror and it’s super stable. I did get Blendmount’s mirror tap and it worked pretty well; the pins that insert into the plug in the OH console are a touch too large but ultimately got them in.

I just installed this at home on a 2022 Targa 4S following the instructions above I had to grind the pins on my blendmount cable to get them to fit in the wiring harness. Blendmount sells cables with smaller pins which I did not have. Simple fix. Overall install was simple. I went slow and careful and it took me 30 min. Looks clean and no dangling cables.

Thanks for the great tutorial.

the great write-up provided an easy install of the mirror wiretap. The Escort redline 360c is huge! Not really into how much space it takes up under the mirror with the blendmount.

Thanks for sharing this tip, msile.
Can you share how to remove #2 section of the overhead console?
I have some buzzing noise coming from it and want to find out what's causing it.

Wow That was two years ago. I did not remove that part, I snaked it through. It may be the cord rattling against the plastic. Put some tension on the cord and see if it still makes the noise.

Thanks for the response!
I will try that once it gets a bit warmer (it was 5 degrees here in Chi town).

I don't think it is that big for a radar detector, but the blendmount really drops it low. I opted not to get the BM and went with the escort window suction and got it as high as possible under the left side of the mirror and it's a fairly neat and tidy solution and as little obstruction as possible. I just need to install / hook up my blackvue dash cam.

Snaking it through is where I got stuck. Any additional advice is appreciated. Did you use a leader line to pull the wires through or just keep trying until the wire came through one of the holes? Any issues putting the wire through the gap in location 2 or did you have to pry it a little to open it up?

I could not snake it on my 2022, below is a picture my install. I just ran the wire out of the bottom of the top piece. Power wire is on the right.

I used 3D printer filament, but weed whacker string could be used as well.

Thank you both. "Messenger Line" it the right terminology for that. I will try the weed whacker line. I have some of that.

Default Blend Mount with Redline

Not so! I use a redline 360 C with the blend mount and it is tucked up very tight under the mirror. I believe yours could be adjusted better than you have presented.
This could even be tucked up tighter. Wanted to clear the camera. No issues with visibility.

thanks for this! installed the mirror tap with ease.

but, does anyone have a part number for this grill covering the torx screw? mine doesn't seem to sit flush. see the picture here. This one doesn't seem to be flush compared to the driver's side either.
