Wondering if there is something common among owners with sag.
1) Date of manufacture.
2) Wallet in back pocket?
3) Butt shape (is weight evenly distributed or are there pressure points).

Of course this shouldn't be happening...but if it's not every car, what's common among owners/cars where it is?

It would have to be one big wallet, actually two, one on each side.

Good questions... this could be a "Bad batch" of seat cushion issue ... let's hope so, and that Porsche does a recall to make good on it.

As for the other two, I don't know about most men, but I for one cannot have even a small wallet, much less a large one in my back pocket while sitting.... drives me absolutely nuts!

Maybe. Maybe not. An object in a back pocket, such as a wallet, could put additional pressure on a section of the seat, causing leather to "give" around that location. When the pressure is removed that section of leather is now slightly stretched, and the stretch might visually manifest across that section as a "sag."

As the 18-way seats will be in the car I have coming, I'm looking to determine a) is this a problem affecting more than a couple of cars and b) if so what the cause (or causes) might be. The situation might be restricted to a few cars (leather or foam lot), a design problem, one or both of the former exacerbated by something the driver is doing (e.g. big wallet in back pocket)...at this stage all unknowns. The first step to figuring out a solution - if a problem actually exists - is asking questions.

I'm with you. I don't carry anything in pants pockets; no wallet, no phone, no keys, no coins.

The problem is in both driver and passenger seats and my wife and I have very different "butts". She doesn't carry a wallet in her pocket. I don't think I have a defective butt, though I guess I can entertain that idea. I think it is more likely the fault of the seat

I'm sorry to see this. I'm in the process of placing an order for a 992 and was leaning toward the 18 way seats. This certainly dosen't help my decision. Does anyone know if this is happening with the 14 way seats as well?

Are there any 992 owners with significant seat time NOT having this issue with their leather seats?

I had the issue when the car was new. At 5k miles, the problem no longer occurs.

I have 18 way seats with heating and ventilation.

Porsche has proudly said that the seat foam is thinner. This applies to both seats. In fact, the 14 and 18 way are very similar now and the bottom part looks like it is the same shape. So I would not expect any difference in this issue.

Haha I appreciate thinking the wallet is the issue. "Here's a $130k car that you can't keep you wallet in your pocket when you drive"

Mine is ~4.5K miles and not showing anything like this 14way, no ventilation. I'm about 90Kg on a good day ( hmmm...) Car was a May/June 2019 build
I don't sit with anything in my back pocket irrespective of care for my seats, it just doesn't make sense to me. Am I looking at my seats now and being paranoid , where I was not before? ...YES !
