Nice find Sean. Hopefully it looks as good as that rendering!

It's about time Porsche puts a new wheel on the car...those look interesting

Love the wheels in the rendering. I hope Porsche does a swan neck type of rear wing though.

The article talks about the particulate filters....is the USA spec cars getting particulate filters plus cats plus muffler? Sounds like a clogged up mess.

Doubt the weight stays the same. 525hp 4.0 with particulate filter. Active aero with bigger brake package/wheel package and possibly frunk area like the Pista/F8. RS is a bigger question. 4.2 wont be enough to sway me. Needs a KERS boost or something else with the same weight.

Looks like pretty much the same as the 991.2 with the ITB and particle filters and stuff.
A little more HP is welcome and 5% more torsion rigidity is very welcome, but 5% is not much.

10KG weight savings is what we all have now with the side muffler delete already...

Sounds like classic Porsche incremental gains, a little bit here and a little bit there, all of which somehow adds up to more than the sum of its parts (and we all go nuts and buy them)

The particle filter weight loss actually a bit less than side muffler delete.

Will be engine from RS/speedster.

The interesting weight possibility is if this car keeps the 7 speed pdk, doesn’t get the extra reinforcement added to the carrera for future hybrid AND gets the extra aluminum panels (main large hindquarter piece), in place of 991 steel which could shave off quite a few pounds.

If so the 992.1 Might actually have real weight loss compared to stock 991.2 GT3.

Looks sweet and the hints are interesting (i.e., slightly more power, some weight savings, increased rigidity, etc). The age-old question is, who will upgrade? is there enough for 991.2 GT3 owners to make the switch or will those who skipped the 991.2 GT3 "upgrade" be the target market? Definitely a more compelling proposition for current 991.1 GT3 owners...I wonder if 991.1 GT3RS owners will make the switch. Looking forward to performance benchmark times

agree with above in general
looks like small incremental changes .. I was hoping for more, like more carbon fiber elements like roof, doors, frunk , so we can have more weight savings
with some of the Maclaren cars tanking to a range close to GT3, I think Porsche needs to step up their game in particular if Maclaren improves dealer network as well as reliability concerns for potential buyers

. . . and come with the 992 interior full of hard plastics and touchscreens. Not for me.

The 992 Carrera has an optional carbon roof, so I wouldn't be surprised to see that on the GT3 (standard perhaps, optional perhaps)...

My guess is that the new GT3 will weigh about the same as the current one. Any small difference to the good side or bad side will not be noticeable. A 3,200 pound car feels the same as a 3,150 pound or 3,250 pound car...

If the new car comes with a CF roof, that will make me happy because it represents a philosophical change from the days when they mandated a heavy sunroof on GT3's for North America (2007 & 2008). And aside from rotating or unsprung mass, the roof is the best place for weight loss.

I agree. I would welcome a KERS boost on the RS if they can keep the screaming N/A engine and avoid significant weight gain.
