Article on 992 GT3 - take my money!

I think the PDK version of the GT4 coming with more torque than the Manual can serve at least 3 objectives:
1. They can charge more money for the PDK (in the GT3, the PDK and Manual cost the same).
2. They can show significantly better performance for the PDK version. Porsche likes to talk about what a big performance benefit PDK is in their cars, but in many cases the advantage is vanishingly small (aside from initial launch). It wouldn't be in this case if the torque is allowed to swell (and maybe HP also).
3. If they price the PDK version higher than the Manual, it creates space to price the RS even higher still.

The problem that I have with the 911 GT3 is getting an allocation. With some dealerships unless you are a top customer, your chances of getting a GT3 allocation is small given the dealerships' limited GT3 allocations. Often times, the dealer cannot satisfy their VIP customer demand for GT3s with their limited allocations, let alone the non-VIP customers.

I think this infographic is a bit misleading. The benefit of the S-Duct isn't that the air goes in and hits the frunk and forces the front of the car down. The air would be hitting the hood anyway and forcing the front of the car down without the S-Duct. Plus the width of the hood is 3 times that of the S-Duct. The benefit is that the front section of the hood, in front of the S-Duct, where the Ferrari badge is, acts like an upside-down aeroplane wing. I.e. it's curved so the distance air travels under the wing is longer than the distance over the top, reducing air pressure underneath and creating downforce. Same as the wing on the back of the car. The misleading part is that the pic only shows air going under the front wing, when actually it's the relationship between the air going under and over it that creates the downforce. Also, because it's only a small percentage of the width of the car, it's not massively effective anyway and certainly not worth losing frunk space over. This is why F1 cars have a huge front wing, full width, right in front of the car.

I realize it’s probably a fake render at this point still so far from the official reveal, but it looks fantastic to me.

I hope this changes. As many GT3 and GT3RS models are out on the used market currently, it would seem Porsche is making plenty of these cars. Porsche, let us regular guys buy a new one for MSRP!
