At least, the exhaust comes out of the holes unlike Audi, which has adopted totally fake exhaust ports. Exhaust actually exits under the car.

Exhaust tips have been technically fake for some time now. They have been bolted on jewelry for some time, having no function other than visual pleasure. Only difference now is the tips are now attached to the bumper and not the physical muffler. Exhaust still exits through them.

Though it is an odd evolution. I used to have a vehicle that had exhaust pipes with “beauty tips” clamped over them..

I’ll gladly take the 992 exhaust setup. Not only less to clean, but still functionally exhausts 😋

I'm slowly coming to terms with it. I will upgrade my 991.2 to something more current (992.2?) in the coming years so I need to get comfortable with it at some point. The worst are the pipes that just dead-end. I think BMW does that. From no viewpoint does it look real, just a tube welded onto the back.

Oddly enough, I'd just rather not have any exhaust pipe visible. Just route the exhaust down where you can't see it.

I love the 991.2 shape, particularly the GTS. Interior is dated for sure.

I have, however, ordered a 992. Love the interior and exterior (with SD pack back and front and side skirts) but... the spoiler - when deployed - feels too big and circular.

but whatever I still want it

991 now feels a bit outdated, just like the 993 has felt outdated for some time. But no one says that is a bad thing. One of the beautiful things about the 911 is that it is timeless. Older gens become charming and classic/analog feeling, new gens become futuristic and forward thinking, but they all retain that same link and lineage... pick your poison

All this talk of out dated is missing the bigger and more important point that I believe we ALL love about the 911.... it's timeless! From the beginning thru the 992 there is no denying (even with the 996) that it's a 911... I remember when all German cars were like this... heck the SL was almost unchanged from 1972 thru 1986... I hate the full remake / redesign of cars every 3-5 years cycle we see now..

The truth is, to the average person, any Porsche 911 looks like a Porsche 911.. in my mind, the greatest overall sports car made.

This statement really sums it up.........all designs have their pros and cons.........the 991 was one of the best of all-time.....thus the spirited discussion at times.........

Does anyone else notice this? Pictures still don't do the 992 justice. But up close and personal. What a beast.
My niece said something similar about my Rolex compared to her Apple Watch.

If the Rolex is a 356 and the Apple Watch is a 992. I agree.
