Iam now driving my first PDK Porsche sports car, my 10tg Porsche, in manual in either Sport or Sport+ mode. I have learned to let my fingers do the shifting. It's way faster, and not clunky! Love it!

If the manual were the close ratio 6 speed of the GT3, I'd be all over that!

But clunky 7 speed manual? No way!
I have had a 981 6MT and currently drive a Carrera T 7MT.
The 7 speed is not ‘clunky’ at all. In fact, it feels as crisp and precise as the 6 speed in my old Boxster.
I prefer the 7 speed in my T because of the gear ratio.
The Boxster 6 speed had a crazy tall 2nd gear (78 mph!!!).

This is exactly how I feel about buying an automatic sports car. I would NEVER even consider buying a Porsche with two pedals.

Was waiting for someone to chime in on this. Old news and I posted the same on the other 992 manual thread...guess I gotta drive a 6 speed GT3 because the 7 speed in my 911 is the best manual I’ve owned. Still don’t get the hate but maybe one day I’ll understand. Maybe after it gets worked in the feel improves or something? Never felt the ratios were off. Mine’s great and is a non-issue as far as choosing PDK vs manual.

This is such a silly argument in the end. Just pick the one you want. Anyone I know who truly loves manual would never take an automatic; if you can’t say that for yourself then you don’t love driving manual enough to want it over the PDK. Decision made!

Agree. I think some people are looking to blame it on the transmission/traffic as to why they don’t drive manuals when the reality is that they just prefer an automatic. I say embrace it! PDK is incredible evolution of the automatic (AND it’s faster) so to each his/her own. I’ll stay in the “slower” lane, rowing through gears and working the three pedals enjoying the journey with a silly grin on my face..

Agree. This argument has come up sooooo many times on this and other forums. It's done to death.

PDK is outstanding. If you haven’t test driven both transmissions you really should. In Sports Plus mode. Don’t listen to anyone here.

whelp. Since you think pdk is like a sex change operation, you and others seem very confused. OP should definitely be ignoring you, try both and pick whatever suites them. Both transmissions are exceptional.

If you lack the intellectual horsepower to follow a simple analogy, I could see how three pedals might be a bit much to manage...

This just got tiring to read when the use of an intellectual argument comes up during a testosterone driven thread about 3 pedals. Signing out it's been beat to death. OP try driving both you can't make a bad choice.

My 991.2 is PDK. My 992 will be manual - unless the other options flat aren't able to be combined with it. In which case I'm not sure. I'll keep my 991.

Right, go straight to the performance option. click manual 7 speed. It comes with the chrono pak. Then manually select each of the others. You can have them all with manual.

Maybe the manual can bring back to life that 3liters miniturbo

though a 3.8 liters or greater is ok either with the PDK , better if PDK-S

I just picked up one of the first Manual 992 c2S in my area and I have to say it is hands down one of the best cars I have owned. While I loved my 991.2 GT3 Manual, the 992 is a far more advanced and refined driving experience that does not compromise on delivering performance. PASM is a must on the new 992’s if nothing else for the 10mm lowering. Mine is apex’s minimalist, no sunroof, only essentials, PASM Bose and Sports exhaust. Love this car! Biggest game changer on the PDK vs 7 MT question for me is the looks of the manual shifter, classic compliment to the new retro interior.
