Front axle lift needed with Sport Design package?

I’m preparing a build for order for a 992 CS. I really like the way the Sport design package with Side Skirts looks as it fills the back void of the front bumper region in particular. The configuration states you lose some ground clearance but doesn’t say how much. I was thinking of getting Front Axle lift to deal with this potential issue, is that really necessary? Anyone have sport design experience ground clearance experience?

As a percentage, my experience indicates a higher percentage of Sport Design builds have FAL than non-Sport Design builds.
Knowing where I travel and how my current cars fare, I'd option FAL no matter the build.

Absolutely needed in my 4 weeks of experience. Always use it on steep entrances, and have tried a couple of milder entrances that didn't look so steep without it, and slightly scraped bottom both times. You'll use it regularly.

I live in a very hilly area. I didn’t spec FAL with sport design bumpers, side skirts and SPASM and haven’t scraped anything in the first 1200 miles. After three GT cars, this car seems to have adequate clearance if you simply drive with reasonable awareness. Beside cost, I wasn’t crazy about weight and added complexity on the front suspension components, though I haven’t heard of any issues with this version.

Opinions, which hopefully will answer your question. Most on this forum have not owned their 992s for that long and since the 991s have basically the same ground clearance the owners there can provide valuable input. But regardless, it really depends on where you live and how many steep entries/exits you encounter most of the time. Personally, I do not see a need where I live and I did not order it, and if I had to do it over again I would still not get it.

My car has the sport design front, SPASM and the axle lift. I've already scraped once by being careless. I'm now using the axle lift on a regular basis and would not buy a new car without it.

I got mine with FAL. I have to negotiate some areas such as steep entry parking garages that cannot be approached at an oblique angle but rather have to driven straight on. Without FAL I would scrape the front end and would not be able to drive the car to work, etc.

The opinions are great, and helpful. They reflect the needs and experiences of the owners, and as such, they vary, some say yes, some say not so much. That’s fine, and what I expected frankly. I am going to get it, prepared for the possibility that I won’t use it very much, no problem there. I’m playing it safe, better to have and not need that need and not have.
I have read a number of posts on a number of forums now on this issue and have gleaned that the lift design may have changed, from a fluid based system with a bladder/pump to an electric system. No good insights into the relative merits of these systems, their reliability/durability or cost of repair. I suspect that there is a relative limited experience with this issues and if these things were always failing we’d know it by now.
Thanks again everyone, drive on....
