Sorry for butting in , mine are 245/35R-20 and 295/30R-21 on OZ Leggera HLT GLS Black rims. Will be putting them on next month when I do my winter changeover and services on all my vehicles.

I went 20s all around for some more sidewall in back.

Must say, skinnier is better on snow so 20s are better than 21s. Then there was this whole debate about the "must" of 992s having to have staggered 20/21 (or 19//20?) set up and since Nokian didn't have anything for us I decided on the Michelin keeping the original set-ups. So how was your experience going from 20/21 summer to 20/20 winter?

In the winter, most of the time, you're driving on plowed roads in cold temperatures. I used to be in the narrow winter tire camp, but I've realized that my use case is mostly a cold weather one -- big fat performance winter tires are awesome in those conditions. With the right rubber in the cold, I barely have to dial back the pace. It's awesome.

Good to know, I'll report back as I use the Michelin. Just sorry they don't make any Nokian Hakka studded for the 992s. I have them on my Touareg and Macan S and they're just awesome on snow and ice.

[QUOTE=siberian;17160155]Since Nokian doesn't make anything for the 992s (my go to winter tire for the past 40 years), does Blizzak offer anything? Does anyone offer anything studded for 20/21 or even 19/20?
I LOVE Blizzaks but couldn't see them in the 201/21 sizes I needed. Couldn't get them for my Range Rover Velar either. I much prefer them to the non-studded Nokian Hakkepelitas. 🤞 they introduce new sizes.

Blizzaks are the go to tire up here as not too many folks know about Nokian (or want to pay the money). The studded version is the one to get if they fit your ride and warrant that kind of tire.

So I have a challenge...
A friend of mine sold me his PERFECT Carrera Classic wheels. My plan was to put some winters on there - except, if you read through this entire thread,
1) finding the rears in 305 is not easy
2) they are SERIOUS money
3) The Porsche snow set has a different offset and they don't stick out as much
4) People say the 295s fit the 11.5 in rear - but I strongly disagree with this based on research from Michelin.
My gut says the 19/20 Porsche Winter set is probably the one to go with - that will mean selling the Classic wheels. Alternatively, I could just find snows in the crazy OEM sizes and drive it. This is for Chicago. I'm curious what the group here thinks.
A) Sell the Classic, get the smaller wheels, they won't look as good but they will be better for winter
B) Find the right size snows for the 20/21 OEM wheels you have and go enjoy. That's why you got the tire and wheel insurance!

19/20 would be a preferable size on snow, however my suggestion since you already have the rims and I assume you like them it will be less hassle to keep them than to sell those, buy new ones and then buy the 19/20 tires.
FWIW I got Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 NA0 295/30R-21 from Tire Rack (as alas Nokian doesn't make any studded or winter tires for the 992s) for $546.98 each. Fronts were 245/35R-20 Alpin 5 NA0 at $375.09 each.
Rims were 20x8.5 O.Z. Leggera HLT GLS Black @$566.60 and 21x11 O.Z. Leggera HLT GLS Black @$646.78 each
