I keep my carbonio behind my driver's seat on the floor. If I get pulled over, I can attach it. Or if I park somewhere I might get ticketed for not having the plate. However, by default, I don't keep the plate and holder attached.
In all honesty, the install on the short shift only takes about an hour. Most of it is spent figuring out how the center console snaps together and being timid about not wanting to pry too hard and snap something. (Spoiler: these plastics are tougher than I give them credit for and need a bit of force / commitment to get apart in some cases)
Now that I've done it once, I'd say I could uninstall it in 30 minutes or so.
I'm glad someone else did the logo on the dash as well! Looks great!
Just finished scrolling through all of the posts here and I think the 911 on the db might be my favorite. Planning on swapping out my stock interior trim pieces for the Paldao (Truffle Interior) and I think the 911 Emblem will finish the new but old vibe I'm looking for.

K40 radar detector and laser jammer. Saved my bacon too many times. Love the front plate Mount - I’ve gone without on all my 911’s over last 12 yrs. And yes , NY requires front plate. Those HRE’s rock.
See the 2 springs underneath-you press in and the entire connection comes off.
Is your plate tilted forward a bit, or maybe just appears that way from the photo? I have been tempted to get one I also agree it should cost way less. I have been kicking around a similar design started and scrapped a build. Yes I know time is money blah blah but for us tinkerers there are few $280 things more apt to have us reaching into parts bins.
Honda body clips (had some laying around) are the right diameter for the holes and are temporary, zero impact. Not as convenient as the spring of course.
Would love another pic of front angle showing offset and camera clearance - you and I both have no-acc. CBs website doesn’t show much…by design I suspect 😂
