My friends came in was one of the cars caught up in the engine replacement. Recall last year. It's at the port in the US for six solid months. Outside. When he finally get the car it was no worse for the wear.
My vehicle (a 992 Agate Grey S Cabriolet) is also sitting in Creutzwald with Tramosa France. It has apparently been there since shortly after it was released for transport on February 13th (Friday the 13th). TYD is showing the same upcoming milestone as yours (4/24 at Emden) with departure from Emden on 7/15 and arrival at local entry port on 8/6. From prior posts, it seems that the Creutzwald-destined cars all completed manufacturing in early-to-mid February. So unless there was some sort of major adverse event (such as a hail storm or train derailment) that would cause damage to 120 cars, I am thinking/hoping they weren't sent there for repairs of damage in transport. My SA has been unable to obtain any further information/explanation for the detour to France. Having to wait to an additional 5 months (or longer??) beyond the original delivery date is very frustrating for all involved. But a larger concern is whether such an extended delay could impact the quality of the car. It appears that the cars are outdoors, and exposed to the elements. And sitting idle for 6 months after manufacturing is completed might not have the same effect as aging a fine wine. Perhaps someone reading this post might have an informed opinion of the realistic prognosis regarding potential quality vulnerability. If so, any insights would be welcomed.
Your car will be just fine. Deployed military members have their cars sit fior 6 months or more without any issues. A fresh off the line Porsche isn’t going to have a problem sitting for several months. Hell for a car that costs well north of six figures it better be able to sit for several moths without adverse impact.
My TYD updated dates, it's not good news. I just got bumped back over a month. Not happy.
Mine did that when it hit port and bounced around a bunch then finally got back on track. It did sit at baltimore for 2 weeks. You may get it a few weeks earlier than that says.

Mine did the same thing yesterday along with many others. It just seems like are artificial 1 month punt. I'm hoping over the next week when 2 boats will be leaving for the east coast, some of these dates revert back to something better. Maybe just wishful thinking but my TYD dates jumped out earlier a bunch an then reverted back a week later.
got it, ok will ask him. So unlucky to end up in that Feb drama to France. Very weired. I’m starting to think about cancelling everything… between the bad economic data and the new 992.2 coming soon
, and no 911 to enjoy the summer i’m not so sure i want to wait august.
Sorry to ask again, what is an SA ? The only GPS data i get is the one on the TYD website and it shows the car at Emden port for months now.
Sales Agent. I called him to find out what was going on when it passed the estimated milestone date for arriving at the German Port on TYD. TYD isn’t GPS-based, to my knowledge and from reading prior posts on this site. It is just an estimate. TYD was pretty accurate for me, up until the car was released for transport. Since then it has provided little useful info except for estimating future dates. April 24th isn’t too far away, so we will see if it is accurate about arriving in Emden. After that, TYD tells me it will sit in Emden for 3 month before being loaded onto a vessel. I hope it’s less than that, but based on my experience so far I can’t rule out it could be longer.
My GTS goes into production next week. TYD still shows dealer arrival in first week of June (SoCal). I really hope it doesn’t delay for some reason. Is the France fiasco limited to the batch of cars from February? Are others with more recent builds getting their cars without delay?

seems the March cars moved through pretty easily. No horror stories reported yet. Hopefully April builds follow suit.
