😩 so close! This morning it looked like I'd be able to collect the car today. Then this afternoon I get told it's not going to be ready. 🤞 for Monday. It's agonizing.

I’m almost ready to leave this waiting room! My C4S (Gentian Blue on Slate Grey) was delivered to the dealer last night. It is still awaiting PDI and registration, so I will officially take delivery in a few more days. Here is a full synopsis of my journey as a reference for others:

TYD Dates:

07/25/21: Porsche Code sent to dealer

07/26/21: Allocation/Deposit/TYD Enabled

09/29/21: Change Freeze Point Reached

10/15/21: Scheduled for Production

10/28/21: Start Production

11/04/21: Production Complete

11/04/21: Ready for Transport

11/05/21: In Transit to Emden Port

11/08/21: Arrival Emden Port/Reached Phase “3/4” and three TYD Pictures available

11/10/21: On Vessel (Siem Cicero)

[TYD and Overview pages never updated again once it hit “On Vessel”]

11/22/21: At Destination Port (Davisville)

11/26/21: Arrived at Dealer

Dealer/Delivery Notes:
  • No ADM, but did compromise with GM to finance with PFS for 4 months @ 4.99% APR
  • No mention of ROFR (or any other bait-and-switch tactics) when signing all the dealership papers
  • Pirelli P-Zero tires installed on my Carrera Classics
  • Both key fobs were on keyring
  • Electronic steering column in place

Talked to a dealership in Houston last week, wanted to order a 2022 911 Carrera S …..told me the wait is one year. So much for me owning a 992.

I’m selling mine, manual, CXX and no miles, its on the marketplace. I can’t PM you since you are a new user with hardly any posts. Follow the link on my signature. If doesn’t sell in the next few days, car is going back to the dealer on trade. Good luck!

So you bought with no ADM discussed and then to avoid last second ADM, they told you that you needed to finance through them at 5% ?

Curious, when did you initiate the conversation with P Norwell? ie confirm you wanted a car and sign paperwork and did you put down a small deposit at that time? (I dont want to assume you walked in on 7/26, they had an allocation at the ready and all was done immediately)
Just looking for frame of reference as I gave my dealer a build code and small deposit in May. thanks!

All remaining allocations handed to US dealers in 2021 were distributed in early November. If your dealer didn’t call that means they either did not get that model specific slot, did not get enough slots or the ones they got were negotiated forward + ADM.

You’re looking to wait at least until end of Q1 of 2022 for an allocation. Good luck!

No, the GM called me with an immediate allocation if were to pay a $10k ADM. I refused saying I am only willing to pay MSRP, to which he counter offered with MSRP, but financing with PFS for at least four months. With my down payment and no early payment penalty, it will be a fraction of the $10k ADM when all said and done. It was worth it to me for an IMMEDIATE allocation, that day.

I think I am most certainly in the minority, but that is actually what happened. I submitted my Porsche Code to them late Sunday night. The GM called me Monday at like 10AM with the immediate C4S allocation with the stipulation stated above. I subsequently put a small deposit and signed P&S later that morning, and I got my TYD link activated that afternoon — all in one day. I’ve updated my original post to reflect that detail for others (even though I am sure it was a rare occurrence to happen that quickly, even pre-COVID)
