I checked with the delivery people. Because I was still a PA resident when I ordered the car, they assumed that I was registering it in PA. Any PECLA car that is not going to be registered in CA is unloaded in Houston and trucked to PECLA. It has to do with not paying two sales taxes, one in CA and one in the buyer's home state.

This is all so cool. My car is on the Siem Confucius as well and Porsche USA told me it should be at my dealer in Silver Spring MD on 12/10 or 12/3 or another date later... if there is a delay. I could care less when it comes, I'm just really excited since my current car looks like it will be sold on Monday (I took a deposit on it, the first person that looked at it). I sure hope I like the car since there's no going back, my current 911 will most likely be long gone when the new one comes in next month. So weird to order a car and never have spent any time in one. I did sit in one for 10 minutes, a buddy bought one and let me ride in it. I liked it enough but thought the delta in price was plain crazy to get a new one. I'm getting it anyway because... I got really bored during Covid.

GARNET LEADER just passed the Panama Canal. My car will be at the Port of San Diego next Friday. FINALLY, almost done waiting.
Now the big question is how long will port processing take. 1 to 4 weeks seems to be the average. Hopefully mine will be on the shorter side.
