Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Vs P-Zero OEM
I have 5000 miles on my 2022 TTS. It came with the Pirelli P-Zero Tires. I drove it yesterday in Southern CA (60°F) and noticed that the P-Zero tires struggle to hold the road in high speed turns. especially the fronts. Its not the first time I have noticed it. There's plenty of thread on them and tire pressures are all correct (Comfort pressures) Are the PS4S that much better?

Were the tires brought up to temp ? 60 isn’t too cold but it’s cold enough the tires would need some warming up.
The TTS generally understeers more than a rwd 911 on all tires, btw.
I really enjoyed ps4s on the tts, particularly for colder and wetter days. They do a fantastic job in the rain for a high performance tire. Their super power is just being really competent at everything. California all season. The cup2s however are better on warm and dry days.
i haven’t used the Pzero on a tts. I have them on another car and they’ve been fine.

I dont like the turn in feel on the P4S...so bland compared to Cup 2. However, I do like the confidence in rain and how quickly they come to temp.
Next tire will be Conti Sport Contact 7. I use Cup 2 as my track tire only.

Cup 2s are great summer street tires but do wear.
I ran the PZeros on an Experience car at Barber in the high 30s. Took a while to get the tires up to temp but it was not horrible.

Not sure I want to put Cup 2s or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar on my TTS since I have no intensions of tracking it. Just driving it on public roads mostly in good weather. (Above 50° and usually dry weather). I would expect the Cup 2s and Eagle F1s to be too stiff on public roads not to mention limit my driving somewhat when it's cold or even raining?? I did drive the car a few miles for a good 10-15 minutes before pushing it with the Pirelli's so I believe they were warm. For any of you with the PS4S', on your TTS' - are you happy with them?

I had my last set of SC2 tires heat cycled (tirerack.com offers this service) and was really surprised at the positive effect on tire wear.

Cup 2s now have up to 300 treadwear ratings...If temps never went below 50 F and it wasn't my daily, I would run them in a heartbeat.
I tracked in heavy rain with Cup 2s as well...surprisingly stable at speeds up to 100 mph.
There is a huge difference between the responsiveness on PSC2 >> PS4S.

I thought the new gen PSC2 had a 240TW instead of the 180TW of the previous gen.

Pirelli rides harsh and noisy for a daily tire......Michelin PS4S transform the car.........most TTS owners seem to prefer it......I know in the cold weather the Pirelli tires accentuates the Ackermann Effect with the scrapping noises from the front tires, while the Michelins is barely heard when moving at slow speeds out of the driveway, etc...

Thanks for all the replies. If anything - i'm even less sure now if to go cup 2s or PS4S. I guess either one will be a good improvement over the Pirelli's. Decisions, decisions. Oh, the problems we face....
