my next personal goal(s) for the RS is
- when the ship leaves port - that means it's left it's precious cargo behind
- Porsche should update the TYD site to say: "Your Porsche has arrived at the local entry port"
- currently TYD status is still "Your vehicle has left the German port 10/21/23"
- current date for TYD local port arrival is 11/21/23 which is now obviously wrong - will be interesting to see what/when it updates.
- once it's at the port and "inventoried" they should generate the US Monroney Window Sticker - as a pdf download

@daveo4porsche - I've watched this saga unfold from afar with building anticipation, I can only imagine what a struggle it's been for you to temper your excitement at nearly every turn! First world problems and all that but to see you handle the fiasco of failed Factory Delivery with such grace has been refreshing to say the least!
When the starter kicks over and that incredible flat 6 fires under your command for the first time all of the waiting, all of the radio silence from Zuffenhausen, all of the hours spent watching marine traffic, they'll all have been worth it.
I won't congratulate you just yet, but I will thank you for taking us on the journey with you. All the best for your PDI, and I hope the road ahead is smooth and easy!

FWIW: I just had my first oil change at 3,420 miles and 3.8 quarts of oil were removed.
I was also told by my service manager who has motorsport experience (during a long discussion) that the low to high range on the oil level gauge is progressive.
In other words, although the difference between low and high is 1.06 quarts, halfway is not half a quart. In any event, I've never filled my car above the 3/4 mark and have never poured in more than 8 oz at one time when adding oil via my trusty "ratio-right" from the 1970's which I used to make sure that I had the right ratio of 2-stroke oil added to my gas for my motocross bikes.
In fact, they still make them today and are pretty handy!

eMail sent to "key" people to suggest I would appreciate "expedited" port processing - once it's on a truck and delivered to the dealership I trust my my local service crew will PDI the vehicle ASAP…so the major hurdle here now _IS_ the release from port and getting on a truck - the trip from port to dealership is trivial - I can drive it in less than 70 minutes - so 2-3 hours for a truck? worse case...the delay here is going to be: how quickly they can process it and get it on a truck...fingers crossed
maybe next week I get to see the car for the first time? oh I hope so.

at least we are all on the same page - Porsche TYD suggests my vehicle is in the local port as of Nov. 29th, 2023 - this is good news as it is more data that it's where it's supposed to be - Porsche suggests Dec. 8th for @ the dealership - I'm hoping to actually do much much better - but dread the possibility of it being delay'd in port…
we'll see how it goes from here - I could drive and touch it in less than 2 hours if I could get past the parking lot security gates - this is painful for me.
