Its worth having a look a Steve Sutcliffes drive round the Anglesey circuit - a nice shortish ~2,5km twisty, technical circuit - he bested his time in the 992 GT3 in the GT4 RS with both cars on OEM Cup 2.

They should have had Dave O'Rourke put down laps (not professional but accomplished amateur) in each of the cars. ( then the camera car wouldn't have been able to keep up, so a passenger narrative would have been the alternative)

People can "huff and puff" about the GT4RS, and while taking nothing away from it, The GT3 is the far superior car which leaves your heart pumping instead of your head buzzing.

Don't get me wrong the GT4RS is a great car in all respects..but it is a stepping stone to a GT3. YMMV
who do you think drove the camera car

not to take anything away from the video - but the "on track" shots from the camera car were not the "full" pace laps - also the day was compromised by weather - although it did get better in the afternoon…

That was my point the Camera car could keep up, but not if you were driving any of the other cars.

Which car (do you think) you would be faster in around T'hill?

I've driven my old 991.2GT3 RS around Anglesey and will be taking my new GT4 RS WP on a track day there in May. Will report back then however based on my first few days and drives in my 4RS I firmly believe its one of Porsche fines ever creations. It really punches above its weight and is an even greater car then its parts. What a lot of people won't admit is the 992 series 911 has got too big and fat in all ways to be a truly chuckable sports car.
The 4RS feels so compact when you're driving it compared to any 992 you care to mention especially the biggest ones like 992TTS and GT3 RS. Its very early days yet but right now its my favourite Porsche by quite a margin of the 20+ I've owned over 23 years. A truly special car and a keeper if there ever was one. I expect it to be even closer to perfection by the time I've fitted an Antigravity battery, JCR exhaust and Surface transforms brake discs.

Doesn't each car come stock with similar tires? - so it should be a simple answer and apples to apples.

The 992 GT3 is polished the 718 GT4 RS is a barrel of laughs IMHO the 991/718/981 era will be seen as peak Porsche.

Until that buzzing noise gives you a headache...agree entirely! And then you get frustrated because the GT3 pulls away, and then your headache increases because you are frustrated and then you lose concentration...and lastly you stop laughing!

Out of interest ho much seat time have you had in the GT4 RS ? It's not only a great Porsche but one of the very very few which has had a sprinkling of magic dust for good measure.

I have had both 992 GT3 and now GT4RS. I don't race but do track occasionally and mostly b road enjoy. For me, GT4RS without hesitation is the keeper. I'll repeat it again - nothing gives the driver back more. It is truely an event each time you get behind the wheel. The GT4RS is one for the ages and Porsche gave us a gift doing that car. No need to argue any of this and it doesn't take anything away from the capabilites of the GT3. Give me the keys to a GT3 and I'll happily jump in every time.

Sucks I was not able to donate my car to the cause due to timing. Would have been nice to see PDK to PDK comparison. That would have made a difference in ease to drive and feel.
