Learned yesterday I get a 992 GT3 RS allocation at MSRP. They give allocations to customers that purchase/race the new GT3r (will be racing in IMSA Weathertech). I actually didnt know when I committed to the new GT3r so it was a welcome surprise. It doesnt take from the dealers allocations, I can chose the dealer I want to take the delivery from.

What are your thoughts on the huge RS decal on the sides? Personally I think it looks cheesy/aftermarket/ricer/childish-- too big and unrefined. Not very sleek and modern like the rest of Porsche's designs, however it seems to be the heritage and what people want. Considering doing the decal delete but unsure of affect on value. Thoughts?

It's a sticker!!!

remove it and if you sell the car buy it and put it on!

Would anyone care to venture a guess as to how many RS models will be built? I want one primarily for track use but have no clout with any Porsche dealer, so I'd be stuck paying a huge ADM if I want one. Since this is 'supposedly' the swan song for a full ICE model, it would sure be nice if Porsche would keep the order books open until they ran out of customers! Fun to dream, I know.

I think the 992.2 gt3/rs will remain NA.

So Motorsport gives you an allocation directly? I guess they don't do the same for the GT3 Cup or GT4RS CS levels - had asked our race team about that and they said it didn't make a difference.

Pretty big difference between the Cup/CS....and a R......like double the price difference....I believe.

I realize that. But I would’ve thought there would be some sort of preferred “access”. Maybe not to the 3RS, but to the street car equivalent.

BMW has a really great contingency program. I’ll leave it at that.

Yep. GT3R is ~$570k, then come the operating costs....

Austin dealer told me they will know allocations late this year or early next year. They expect US cars in April-ish.
They told me they are the second largest dealer by volume in the US (they are 2 stores so taking that into account I can see it).

i don’t think anyone knows, pure guessing by even dealers. Timeframe seems weird as you mentioned as well. Historically (all recent GT models that is) a GT car is officially released, then about 2 months later initial round of allocations to US released, then 6 months after allocations released those cars start to arrive for delivery. So your projected April initial arrivals makes sense, but suspect we will see allocations sometime soon. But, I have zero inside info and just using past to make an educated guess.

I've bought two GT3's off my local dealership since 2018, been on the waiting list for 3.5yrs for 992 3RS and was promised an "early allocation". But, alas my sales guy has since left said dealership and the "relationship" is non-existent now. It's all abuot the relationship they tell me... They told me i can't have an RS last week.

Remember kids, get those knee pads out and suck hard, and don't stop.
