But after seeing the car I decided to buy it rather than wait for some future allocation and probable delivery date in early 2025.
Probably a wise decision to ensure a car. How did they have one available? Did they honor same ADM, or lack thereof you had on your incoming allocation?

I believe it was a January allocation with a built date in April. Most cars scheduled to be built in June were the ones that were moved to 2025. My June allocation was with a different dealer which I canceled. The markup was the same though I had to negotiate to get it down to what I was paying before.

The issue with Canada is allocations are very sparse for the 3RS (so delaying or cancelling allocations doesn’t really move the needle). Rumors are always floating around that they’ll get more RS allocations in June/July. I’ll believe it when i see it

If Porsche is going to build 2025 RS models because they moved 2024 allocations, why wouldn't they give their dealers additional allocations? I doubt they would only build enough RS's to meet the amount to cover those that were moved in 2024.

This is an emission allocation issue, not production allocation. They will move enough '24s to '25s to satisfy the amount of cars they can build in that emission class for existing production and thats it.

I was more so curious how your dealer had a random 992 3RS available for purchase

They either spec'ed it for the showroom floor or another buyer backed out for whatever reason.

Is there an MSRP difference for the ‘25’s?
I got an $20K surprise when I got the “good news” that my RS would be a ‘24. Delivered 2023.

In the prior year (23 slipping to 24) I heard that some '23 pricing was honored, but in other cases not. Unfortunately not a clear-cut case. -hyp

The dealer ate the difference. No way PAG would sell their flagship under MSRP. Kudos to those dealers that did.

The dealer I bought the car from specs every RS allocation they get. (It's why I wasn't buying the RS from them). Once delivered they put it up for sale. Because I have been buying Porsches for over 20 years from them they called me to let me know they had just received one. Initially, I told them I wasn't interested but my wife persuaded me to go and look at it. I liked it and bought it. Life is too short. My purpose in life is to enjoy every moment.

BTW, Porsche has announced that the 2025 3RS will be priced the same as 2024 model.
