No, it’s not. 1 sec per minute is the same delta as observed at other tracks, and in this case the tires unequally favor the RS, so the delta is actually significantly less than 1 sec.

Yeah remember it's been everybody's speculation the true glory of the 3rs can only be tapped into by someone with great deals of experience and especially time with the car. The Aero difference is huge and being it's a nearly 1900lb downforce to 400ish for the GT3 there's a major threshold to be pushed. I'd be curious how the 4RS would perform on their test track. Likely about the same as the ZR1 behind the GT3 given the GT3 has better turnin abilities.

Those downforce numbers are at very high speeds, and the downforce is a lot less at actual cornering speeds on track. The downforce comes with drag which slows the car on straights, so a driver could actually be slower in the RS if they can’t use the extra grip in corners.

Lets be honest, if you are spending 1-200k more to trade in your GT3 or 991 GT3RS to shave off a second or 1.5 seconds on most US tracks that you visit 4 to 5 times a year then you bought the car to flex.

Could be true in some cases, but I think many will want to experience the higher grip in corners and braking, and play with the *****. I get the appeal of the car, and if someone has deep enough pockets, the car can make sense.

i think the car looks incredible and it’s an engineering feat by Porsche. It has soo much cool tech (customizing compression and rebound etc) that appeals to the geek in me.

those are reasons enough for me.

Today I had a store of mine text me with a Feb GT3RS allocation. They're asking 140k over MSRP but they'll listen to offers.

That’s no too bad here in South Florida dealers are asking 50 over for used GT3s.
