Pads are different (due to copper content), but "totally different caliper"? How?
The 992 GT3 has aluminum monobloc brake calipers, six pistons at the front and four pistons at the rear. Same as the 991 GT3, no?

Technical memo Please!
calling for a subject matter expert to please write a comprehensive paper outlining the specifications and technical differences for all GT brake systems.: 991.1, 991.2, 992.1, PCCB vs Steel, brake shoes OEM and aftermarket, track vs street. Caliper specifications, maintenance guidelines.
a great summary that can help save us from searching 20 different threads. Please thanks!

So are the PCCBs different between the GT3 and the TTS? My TTS has been relatively quiet with little dust.

Yep. New formulation. I get serious judder way before ABS. I don’t care about the dust, but the brake bite is not there.

It’s an easy fix. Get the other pads and save the originals for the next owner.

PCCB woes
I'm in the process of locking in an allocation for a Cayenne GTS and the dealer told me PCCB might not be available. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I was on the ropes on the choice between the Steel and PCCB brake options anyway, so it won't be the biggest loss (saving $9k on the build will help ease the pain).
When I was first in talks with the dealer in Feb '22, the PDLS+ headlights where unavailable and those appear to be back now, thankfully.

I had a 2019 gt3rs and now a 992 gt3. I drive it hard. Tracked 3 times so far and I find the pccb brakes with oem pads to be excellent, no judder, bite is the same. Does emit a bit more dust but not a big deal imo. No fade pedal is a hard as a rock

Sam from Seen Through Glass on YouTube said on his last podcast this week that they're allowing PCCBs to be ordered again on his build, for whatever that's worth. Definitely worth asking again if you haven't heard anything.
