This is consistent with what my SA told me yesterday: SFL Composer encountered rough seas and cars onboard sustained damage. They were going to do a full inspection of all vehicles but my delivery, assuming no damage, would be pushed out into April minimum. Was expecting to take delivery of my Taycan Cross Turismo next week in NJ.

I am really hoping this is just a technical glitch in TYD.

Do you know if they inspected ALL cars in Davisville, or only those that were to be offloaded ?

Default SFL Composer

Hello all. My car was on the composer. I see some of you are saying some of the cars were damaged. I see it left the port on 3/18 and on it’s way to Houston. My car came from Emden and now at Davisville. Was docked 3/15-3/18. I never heard or saw anything that some cars got damaged. Also, haven’t heard anything from my dealer.

My SA called yesterday. Cars bound for Houston are on ship heading to Houston. They will then inspect each car for any damages (bumper to bumper). Shipping company is responsible for damages so they want to make sure they document all for insurance purposes, but also to determine extent of repair. I do not know if mine was damaged or not, but he said they had 20 cars on that ship for the dealership. Said this will delay delivery of car by 3-4 weeks as each car will be hand-inspected.

My SA just replied to me, she does not have details on which car is affected just yet, and will only be determined once they are offloaded and inspected.
Looks like we are in for a long and painful wait.

. . . and out the other side. Current ETA to San Diego is 6 days, about a week ahead of my TYD estimate.

Anyone have some prior data on the length of time to arrival in SD to LA dealers?

Now that the GS has cleared the canal she should fly up the coast, I am happy to see I am not the only adult who has turned into a 7 yr old waiting to open up his new Sizzlers track on XMas eve. I even confessed to my wife that watching the ship near San Diego is overly exciting to watch and how fun the experience has been. Maybe that is because this is the first car I configured but I feel closer to this car than my two previous Porsche deliveries, the Track Your Dream app makes for a nice personal experience. The only pasrt I am missing is that I cancelled the Porsche Experience Delivery, it looked as though my car would sit for a week or more waiting for our day to come. I wish there was a way to schedule the Porsche Experience delivery without losing days that your car can actually be available to you. any thoughts on this and scheduling the Experience?

An example of my overwhelming psychotic anticipation below, I have been tracking miles and estimating the berthing date in San Diego, am I alone?

Now just off the coast of Costa Rica. Happy it traversed the Atlantic without tidal waves, fire and the four horsemen. Shows SD 3/26 and Benicia 3/29 from last weeks schedule. 2 days before my TYD, but then traveling to Seattle. Will see what the updated shipping schedule shows tomorrow.
