I made an offer on the agate car today at $40k over and my trade-in. The car apparently sold for over $110k over. The market is completely bonkers and I'm glad I didn't go that high.

Wait a minute, you called agate grey a "poopie" color and then offered $40,000 over MSRP for an agate grey car?!

I am sorry that you did not get the car but I am glad to see that your opinion of agate has changed for the better! My first two 911s were in agate and I may have gone with agate for my Touring if I hadn't lucked into a PTS allocation at the last minute.

Yes Senator that is correct. Car looked good in person. I loved the interior too. However, I felt comfortable going +$40k but the buck stopped there for me. The fact that it sold at a 52% markup (minimum) makes me happy I didn't go there, no matter how much I liked it.

I wanted to drop this info here as we gear up for the next round of allocations:

My SA expects to receive bonus (because of store improvements / exceeding sales targets / etc) and regular allocations for GT cars (and regular cars) soon. ADM is ~$50-60k for Winged, ~$65-75k for Touring (I'm pretty sure it will be at the lower end of those ranges, but I wanted to leave some buffer room...he'll ultimately confirm the amount). Of course, these allocations aren't available yet, and there's no guarantee that one will even become available / no guarantee that he can get you one, but he doesn't run CC deposit until he has an actual slot and you give the green light...he just inputs the order demand and adds you to his list.

If you're on the east coast and/or have an enticing trade and/or are in the market for another Porsche (mainly Cayenne, Macan, Taycan) and want to build a relationship, that'll all help your case. Similar to many watch ADs, car dealers would prefer clients to be local-ish...though I'd be happy to connect you with him regardless of where you are. He's really great and sells basically everything else at sticker. I wouldn't post this if I didn't believe in his level of customer service and passion for the brand. Anyone interested is welcome to PM me. There is no skin in it for me, and I will not be compensated in any way...I'm sharing this to help the community and my fellow Porsche enthusiasts! Thanks for reading this.

I can buy a GT3 all over the place for $100,000 over -- and I have been offered some at less still -than that -- but $150,000 is stupid -- unless the car is worth $200,000 over in a few years. THere are something like 30 GT3's for sale across dealerships and I know that at $125,000 over at one dealer in California they have had the cars sitting in their showrooms for several weeks now. Perhaps they are running out of people with crazy money - and for a car that is very uncomfortable on the highway for more than a short trip. Unless your really going to drive the car in time trials on a track the GT3 is $150,000 extra over a nice Carrera I suppose for ego rights or to make up for the lack of something physical about one's self.

What are some of these people expecting? It isn't your comfy Cadillac ride, it's not meant to be that. For as close to a race car it is, it is a very comfortable ride, unless you are with a broken back, or have no interest in a sport car driving experience.

And he's never driven one on the highway for a road trip. He can buy 30 of them but doesn't want to. Oh, well.

Default ADM and Financing

Newbie question, but I have a Targa 4 GTS arriving. Had to pay 30K ADM, and I’m considering financing….do they include that in the financing cost, or does it have to be paid cash?

Depends on the dealer. Some add it to the final purchas price. Others want the ADM cash and the msrp plus tax in deposit plus financed amount, again, depends on dealer.

I imagine it has to do with your credit tier and the max LTV the bank will allow. I think Porsche Financial allows around 110% max LTV for Tier 1 but can sometimes stretch to 120-125%? Considering taxes too, you'll probably have to put something down.

I'm 18,000 miles into my Touring ownership. I've driven the car from San Diego to the Oregon coast, and everywhere in-between. The Touring, to me, is MORE comfortable than my GTS. The difference is the buckets, for me, anyway. The buckets fit me perfectly. The 4-ways in my GTS make my butt and back hurt after an hour or two of seat time. The GT3 makes for an exhilarating daily driver, grand tourer and everything in-between for this enthusiast.
