992 GT3RS

A design we recently wrapped up for a customer's 992 GT3 RS:
The original design included bonnet stripes and the vinyl in matte green, but the customer decided to keep it clean with just the side stripes in matte black:

Magny Cours Club - Auto Sport (all CUP2R)
C8 Z06 (Z07) - 1:15.23 - room for two sets of golf clubs.
991 GT2 RS - 1:15.91
992 GT3 RS - 1:15.96 - room for.............nothing.
992 GT3 - 1:17.18
991.2 GT3 RS - 1:17.68 (different driver)
A larger boot space, driver and tires are the meaningful difference

I’ll do the stripes over the car, but keep the original side script but lengthen it to include the front and rear bumper.
And the wing end plates in white.
Same as we have seen some pics of the tribute in green.
But mine with the stripes and 997RS white/gold accents instead of green.

Sounds like 992 GT3RS on Cup 2 is about the same pace as 992 GT3 on Cup 2R, and on equal tires the delta is not much more than 1 sec per minute, just like with past generations. This isn't so much a negative for the RS, but shows how fast the GT3 is, and how some of the downforce advantage of the RS is lost to drag.
I estimate that 992 TTS is also about as fast as 992 GT3 RS on equal tires (factory TTS tires are non-R summer tires, even slower than Cup 2).

Magny Cours Z06 & 992 RS laps should be synced to within hundredths here https://viewsync.net/watch?v=w9s5AB8...22.2&mode=solo
Both cars on Cup 2 R. No apparent advantage to RS anywhere, Z06 seems to be equal or more convincingly to power, able to match the 911's corner exit strength. Give and take on min corner speeds btwn the two. Remarkable performance out of Chevy.

Yep the RS is simply not that good (in terms of where Porsche thought it would be). Wait till you get to 130kmh average tracks. Been obvious for a long time - thats why Porsche has avoided lap timing.
Everyone I know thinks its a technical demo piece (and there's nothing wrong in that, if the spiel is honest, my view is Porsche are right on the edge of misleading or deceptive even if its via proxy youtubers or simply by omission) - thats the view I have come to as well (technical demo piece for the launch of the 992 GT2 RS).
Never over sell and under deliver.
The fact the C8 Z06 (07) is on pace and its a bolt together chassis that weighs close to 1650kg is a damning indictment of Porsche lack of ability to pivot. If they had developed the Cayman to its full potential they would have had a far better car. But no, too stupid to learn, too ignorant to pivot. Same attitude that led to the company near death experience in the 90s).
Reality, the driver and tires define the difference between the 992 GT3 RS, 992 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS. The problem the 992 GT3 RS has is simple, it lacks the adjustability of the 992 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS because Porsche have baked in the hardware and software.

I believe this GT3 RS is basically a platform for development of the next GT2 RS. With a lot more power, this car will compete favorably with its rivals. Doing this much downforce without commensurate increase in power never really made sense to me.

Paying huge ADM for either GT3 or GT3 RS will probably eventually result in cringing. The only one that will likely hold value as a collector's car is the GT4 RS, and that's if it's low miles and little or no track miles.

We pretty much already knew the delta: about 10 secs at the 'ring for a 7-minute lap is 1.4 secs per minute (with factory drivers). That's pretty much the delta between Cup 2 and Cup 2R.

Can't see them losing the GT3 RS namesake, or its leading position in the track car hierarchy for more than this gen. They just need to 296 it, pace problem solved. Could even use the 4.0, again...

these 3 guys could argue that a Red Bull RB19 is not that fast since at Magny Cours Club (effectively looks like a golf club more than a track) the delta with best street legal cars is less than 30 seconds

Speaking for myself, I think the GT3 RS is a desirable and fast car, and worth the MSRP price. Just need to be realistic about the pace relative to the GT3 and other cars. It's faster than the GT3, but not 'a lot' faster - the advantage of added aero downforce is somewhat negated by the added aero drag. The lap time numbers are what they are.
