I went with a polyurea coating about two years ago and I’m very happy with the results. Would choose again.

I never thought about tile, but it looks good.

But probably not for jacks or jack stands!

Should solve the winter problem and I really like the look. Cost about $2700 for my 3 car garage.
what color gray did you go with?

For a working garage, nothing beats a quality epoxy finish IMHO.

If you never spill any oil, or have to wipe up any cleaner, or drop any small parts, never use floor jacks, and value form over function, those plastic tile floors do look awesome...

Epoxy coatings don't stand up to winter abuse, though. For warm-weather garages though, I agree with you.

Polyaspartic is the best floor coating for those of us with salt and road grime to deal with. The downside is polyaspartic is about 5x the cost of epoxy.

I'm not sure what color grey was used in that picture (looks like Slate Grey), but I picked Pearl Silver because it doesn't show dirt as easily as the darker colors. Make sure you get Swisstrax and not Race Deck... they are two completely different products. It's the best thing I ever did to my garage. BTW, damage due to floor jacks is overblown. I use jacks and stands on mine and although they do leave tiny marks, they're barely noticeable. And you can always replace individual tiles if they do get damaged.

I prefer any colour/pattern where a small part doesn’t disappear when it hits the floor.

I’ve gotten ballpark estimates and can confirm that poly is more expensive than Epoxy. It might be 5x for the material, but of professionally installed and prepped, just incrementally more. One installer said it bonds with the concrete.

I could be a little off on the price difference for sure... Also have to be careful of folks that offer polyaspartic that cut corners and use an epoxy base.

But yes, apparently it bonds permanently. My floor should be done next month will post pics when complete!

A 3 car garage was 1K less than http://racedeck.com/ and shipped free. http://racedeck.com/ charged for shipping at that time. Maybe 3 years ago. I think both Co's get their tiles from the same manufacturer in Salt Lake UT
Big Plus 1 for garagefloorigllc.com from Colorado. Best prices, love the results, easy do it yourself. This garage sits in western facing Texas sun and sunsets. No issues whatsoever so far.

About 900 square feet, most of which I covered, leaving minor borders along the walls and bump outs. Here's the amount of boxes/ tiles that took, shipped for free, and a few hours work that evening:

Just a simple epoxy coating for me. Easy to keep clean and didn't break the bank.
