Finally had the polyaspartic flooring done last week. Decided to park the 911 for the winter as of yesterday Also had them do a bunch of slat wall. Just waiting now on a good deal on cabinets and debating on painting the remaining exposed drywall.
I just installed Swisstrax Ribtrax. Goes down super easy. I tried to move the whole floor as one Ip unit in an oversized 2 car garage and it would no budge. So unless you are pulling in super then stomping on the brakes it will sit put. Colorado is supposed to have a substantial winter and this should help with standing water. Just need to cut about 20 tiles for the opposite wall to make it all look tidy.
I use a 4x4 hardened ceramic tile with a little grip on it. my garage floors are now 12 years old and still look as great as day one. I used a dark grey grout and sealed the grout, so i can pressure wash out the bays anytime I want.
I want to say for my six bays 28x40 times 2 garages was about $6000 labor and install (12 years ago though...)
I wanted to lay down tile and the places I called stated that it will crack. Now I'm seeing you guys here using it. I have epoxy floor paint now that the previous homeowner installed. I suspect it will have to be removed first?

I rented a floor grinder from Home Depot to rough up the epoxy and concrete floor prior to having the Porcelain tile put down.
Koala - I'm having the polyspartic put down this week. I had 820 sq ft of unfinished exterior walls (OSB board) to prime and paint, but it was worth it - all 11 gallons of oil primer and color coat! You'll enjoy your garage even more if you paint your drywall. Looks awesome with the new floor coating.

Instead of painting drywall I put up white plastic wall panels. Over the years my drywall was really beat up. The white wall panels are waterproof, don’t scuff easily, and where cost effective.
Has ANYBODY here had a bad experience using porcelain tiles in their garage? It seems like it's super expensive but maybe worth it. With a slip sheet it's $25 sq ft to install. LABOR ONLY.

That sounds pricey, my whole job including tile was probably under $10/sq.ft. but that was almost ten years ago. I didn't use a slip sheet, the tile was set directly to the old concrete floor with a good quality Polymer Modified Thinset Mortar (Flexbond). Same with the grout, a good polymer modified grout was used. No issues whatsoever to this day and my unheated garage sees extreme temperature changes and lots of road salt. However, I agree it's important to take every precaution as it would be a disaster for the tile to lift and crack.
I'm thinking of installing Racedeck or Swisstrax. I am not price sensitive, but want the best results. Was going to use tile, but I'm concerned about that too.
How old was this Racedeck? It's ALL warped. I can't believe something could be that bad. It has a 20 year warranty, right?

FYI, RaceDeck warps as well, nor did they answer my emails about it. Floor is laser-flat underneath it.

That quote was a ridiculous Orange County California quote. Jesus if they think you have money it's all over. It can be done for $6-$7 sq foot now that I've called around.

That doesn’t look great... I have the ribbed Flooring from Swisstraxx and it looks just a good now as it did 4 years ago when I put it down!
When I was considering flooring systems, I looked at Racedeck and Swisstraxx. I requested samples from both companies and compared them. The Swisstraxx was thicker and didn’t “Clack” when you walked or drove a vehicle across it. The fact that debris and liquids will fall through the ribbed part that allows helps keep the surface cleaner.... but it also allows air ventilation so water can easily evaporate.
Oil or other chemical spills can also be remedied by taking up the effected section and cleaning underneath.... or you could take up the entire floor system out once a year and clean the entire floor underneath them put the tiles back down... my 24x24 garage would take a good Saturday morning to do this. I usually just take an air nozzle or a leaf blower to blow any dust or debris out.
I love my Swisstraxx.... my only regret is not doing it sooner!!!
