Again with trying to get the spoiler up. Maybe we need little blue Porsche pills.

you guys can be kinda dumb at times. there is an issue and I'm simply trying to see if others might be having the same problem with it retracting when it should be staying up

If the spoiler is not operating as Porsche intended it to you'll get a warning on the MFD.

(I think they should also add a warning for "Excessive spoiler infatuation").

hahahahahahahahaha... quite true about the warning. I didn't realize there was such opinions on the ups and downs of the spoiler.

i imagine there might be something that triggers it to go down, but I'm curious as to what.

I take it you're new here.

Additional considerations:

"When the rear spoiler is extended, the supply of air to the charge air cooler can be obstructed as foreign bodies can get trapped inside.
Never park the vehicle with the rear spoiler extended".

yeah, people on here obsess a bit too much. it's a car, that's it.

yes, I'm aware of what the manual says. this happens while driving and there are no opportunities for it to get clogged. it should stay up as long as I'm in individual mode but it doesn't always do that.

Interesting info in this article. Didn't realize that the engine cooling fans operate at high vehicle speeds. 600W fans!

I notice the same thing. On hot days in LA, the spoiler creeps up at 30mph in around-town situations. I know because I can see the lip slightly in the rear view mirror. Figure it has to be temperature driven so I'm not too worried about it.

Maybe Call your dealer if you don't like answers? I bet nobody here knows the position of their spoiler as we can't see them.

I don't understand what you all mean about not being able to see the spoiler in the 991.2. I can see when my spoiler is up in the rearview mirror. The sunroof might have been cracked open (does it extend higher in that case?) It comes up consistently at 75 mph or so. It also comes up sometimes at lower speeds in hot weather (lowest oil temp I saw in those cases was 216 so things were definitely warm back there).

Default After reading this thread...

I started paying attention to the spoiler through the rear view mirror. We have been having high 90's the past few days and I have noticed my spoiler cycling up and down at city speeds. I wonder what is on the minds of the people behind me. Probably think I am a dork.

SPASM + open sunroof = 2 more inches higher for spoiler
