Thanks, I really love the new look. The colors and CF are an exact match. The paddle shifters are an excellent upgrade, and the steering wheel size is exactly the same as the old wheel even though to some it looks bigger. I am pretty OCD when it comes to my car and this setup is just perfect.

I have to give a big shout out to Yuan Li for making this upgrade possible. Without the adapter this would be impossible to do.

Hey RYE,

One more question, did you up grade from a Sport Design or multifunction steering wheel and before and after pics of yours would be great to see.

Thanks,
John

The .2 paddles alone are worth the price of admission.

If i currently have a 991.1 PDK with sport design wheel (no multifunction), and want to upgrade to the 991.2 wheel WITH multifunction and heating, do i just need the multifunction adapter from gps, or do i also need a new collar spring for the heating to work?

You need a new clock spring or collar spring for the additional power connector, as well as the multifunction adapter that also supports steering wheel heat (an extra $100 I believe). Lastly, the dealer needs to reprogram your steering wheel type to enable steering wheel heat and multifunction key. Hope that helps!

Edited after re-reading my earlier posts from Oct...😁 Apologies for the redundant questions - it just appears as though everyone has a SLIGHTLY different variable, so here are mine...😁:

1. What functions (phone, volume. TFT scroll & select, Sport, Sport Plus, PSE, etc.) can I reasonably expect to work from the steering wheel after the upgrade (vs. What will just light up)? I know I asked this b4 but looked as though that might be available in a future model?

2. Looks like I have to spend about $1700 For new leather steering wheel, about anoth $1k for airbag unit, and a few hundred for adapter - so about $3.2k to update?

Thank you for the guidance and apologize for any redundant questions - just want to make sure I know what to get AND expect (I realize dealer will need to activate MF). Thank you for the guidance and patience!!! -Dom

so i ordered multi function GT wheel and airbag from suncoast ($995 and $1095) and adapter without heat from GPS. The added expense and effort of the clock spring, soldering, and different adapter didnt seem worth it to me since i only drive my C2 in good weather. Hopefully the dealer wont give me a hard time about programming the diamond button on the multifunction wheel (switching from sport design wheel in '13 991.1).
Glad i found this thread as i really like the 991.2 wheel, and would have never figured this out on my own.

Great thread!

I have a 2015 targa 4 with a Sport Design Wheel w/out heat. Also it has the Sport Chrono package. What is the clock spring part number needed to upgrade to a 991.2 wheel with heat?

What else besides a dealer reprograming the car... the Li Adapter and the soldering of the resistor is needed?

Thank you gentlemen

Folks - I have a 2014 C4S, manual transmission with the Sport Design steering wheel. I am looking to swap that out to the 991.1 MF wheel (not the 991.2). Yuan Le has indicated I can do that swap without his adapter.

If there is anyone that has swapped out a 991.1 MF Wheel WITHOUT the PDK paddles for a 991.2 MF wheel I am interested to see if we can make a deal for old wheel.
My preference would be one with the CF like the photo in post #128 above from RDCR, but would be willing to consider any 991.1 MF wheel. I'd welcome a PM from anyone that has such a wheel.....
Thanks folks.

EDIT:
Perhaps a silly question, but given my situation described above, it is possible to remove the PDK paddles from the 991.1 MF Wheel, or would that just leave big holes where the paddles were. I probably need to drop by my local dealer and look at the 991.1 PDK Wheel, and also at the 991.2 Wheel w/o PDK.
