Yep. Press the 'A' button to turn it off in Normal mode on the 991.2

My question, Is the PSE worth the money and does it provide a noticeable drastic sound difference on a 2017 911 C2 coupe. Thanks and looking forward to receiving your feedback.

REALLY glad I got PSE. Sound is very noticably deeper and LOVE the burbles on decel. I'd definetly get it again.

I had a '13S with PSE and I now have a '17C2 without it. I do not miss the sport exhaust. $3k for something that adds no performance makes very little sense.

I tire of loud noises, PSE can be fun, but not all of the time.

It doesn't stay off, though. Hmmm, I just thought about using my "save" function on the door panel - maybe that will do it. I'll try that next time I get in it.

I am a huge fan of the 991.2 PSE option. Not only does it sound much better from factory, it laos has a much wider variety of sound. Valves open and valves closed yes, but you also have sport vs sport plus as well. Sport mode has burble/overrun, while sport plus has none but more turbo noise. And the potential sound by unrestricting the cats is just superb if you want to get some more out of it. No doubt PSE would be on my build sheet for a 991.2. Here is a good example of the different modes/sound.

But to your point, to get rid of cackles and turn off the !@#! start-stop, it's my only solution. I wish there was an on-off button for the stop-start like on my BMW. I absolutely hate start-stop and unhappy that Porsche makes it extremely difficult to turn it off.... unless I am missing something somewhere...

It remembers the last setting for the 991.1 - if you turn it off, it stays off when you start the car next time. I always have mine off (I don't like start/stop) so this is a nice feature to be able to turn it off and leave it off.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way on the 991.2 - it defaults to on and you have to turn it off each time you turn the car on, if you want it off. I haven't seen anyone post any way around this yet.

For me it was a must have on the .2 as 1) I love the center two-pipe exhaust look over both the base C2 and C4 configurations and 2) bet it would help with resale as it seems like more new 911s these days have it rather than not.

Not sure on sound, if it sounds louder and more raw great, although I wouldn't care for the burbles and noises on deceleration.

Of all the buttons on my car, only the Sport PASM button stays on. Also, the AC fans and PCM turn on again. It would be better if everything was remembered.

It would also be nice if there was a faster way to dim the PCM, without going through all of the menus.

Can't you set your 'Individual' setting on the rotary controller (or whatever that tiny wheel on the steering wheel is called) to accomplish this ?

Set it for Sport Plus On. PSE Off. After you start the car, set the controller and you're done.

That's what I am currently doing, but I'd rather"Ron Popeil" it... set it and forget it.

Ahh. Gotcha.

There's a member here who makes a commercially available module that turns off the Eco mode, and turns on Sport as soon as you start your car. It goes behind your center panel and uses your existing hardware. I can't remember his screen name, but he also makes phone and tablet holders for 911's. Try a search maybe ?

N.B. - I don't know if he's done it for the 991.2 though.
