Default Tire pressure question?

Hi everyone. Since I took delivery of my C4S, I notice more and more that the car handles a little funny on certain roads. I'm running pressures at 35psi front, 40psi rear. Do you think it's to high of a psi? I'm running Pirelli's that have 4K miles on them. Maybe unbalanced? Thoughts?

Does not sound like a tire pressure related issue.

You could get by fine with a little lower pressure, but I agree with LexVan that it probably isn't causing any problem in handling. You might want to first consider an alignment check.

I also have a 4S and don't notice anything I'd call a little funny on any roads, but probably our roads in central Texas don't have some of the winter-related artifacts of your roads... or maybe I've had enough Porsches now that any oddness is just factored into my brain... but I don't think so. The reason I mention this is that it isn't too odd for cars with wide tires to "track steer" a bit if the road has depressions or ridges along the path of travel in lanes, something that can happen in colder areas where gravel or studded tires lead to erosion of the pavement in the tire tracks. I don't know if NJ roads have much of that though,

Thanks guys! First 911 with AWD, maybe it's just me. I'll get the wheels balanced and checked at the next service. Not a big fan of the Pirelli's, but no need to exchange this early.
Thanks again!

Just curious. Are those your cold inflation pressures? Assume yes - but just asking as I run 33 / 38 on my 17 GTS 4 and have been thinking they are a little too soft. Filled with nitrogen so I need to swing by the dealer if I want to top up.

I think you are using the full load spec for the psi, not the partial load. The full load psi is for fully laden high speed (autobahn) speeds and the partial load is more for everyday use.

Look on your door jamb, there should be 2 specs listed, try using the lower one.

Also, define "handling funny"... are you possibly talking about tramlining?
