I am picking up a 991.2 C2S this month - no PSE or SC...SA said that I couldn't back out when I ordered it because no one else would want that config. I love the GT characteristics and prefer a quieter ride. I plan to keep the car for life. I don't commute so about 5000kms/year max.

So if you're planning to resell I would say PSE and SC are a must.

The advantage of PSE is twofold, possibly threefold. Sound when you want it (no sound when you don't), more attractive during resale (you may not get your money back but you will get more looks during sale) and (for me) more classic look of some of the older Porsche's. I think the 4 pipes is very 90's and early 2000's.

I simply did not want it "both ways."

Yes kind of the opposite of "can have".

my business partner has the 991.2 base with sports exhaust and it sounds nice. I was on my porch and heard him before I could see him and the car has a nice rumble to it. now does it sound close to a gt mustang with a coyote engine, no way, but still quite nice.

I mostly have my PSE on, about 90% of the time. Would check box again, especially given that the 3.0 TT is quieter.

I also like the twin-center look - echoes the GTE Pro cars, the RSRs. Actually even more so the GT3 Cup, as the new RSR diffuser is so humongous the twin pipare are somewhat obscured.

Opposite? Nah. I "can" have many things I do not want. I'm pretty good at avoiding that.

Great cars either way. Enjoy yours and its PSE.

I have PSE on all the time. Now that the car has 3500 miles on it, it is sounding quite nice. If I had to choose between options, I'd delete something else to have it.

I got it and enjoy it. But as my wife said to me when clicking boxes: "$3,000 just to make it louder- are you out of your mind?"

I skipped the Sport Chrono (which I consider useless with a manual) so saved some money there.

Yes, I don't like the pops and gurgles and that's why I keep it in Sport+ mode. It eliminates the pops and just makes a very nice exhaust note.

Problem with Sport + is greater propensity to slide. Great for curves on the track, not so much for traction on roads.

Hmm, well, I took a lovely slide around a corner yesterday! This car reacts very well.

But to your point, to get rid of cackles and turn off the !@#! start-stop, it's my only solution. I wish there was an on-off button for the stop-start like on my BMW. I absolutely hate start-stop and unhappy that Porsche makes it extremely difficult to turn it off.... unless I am missing something somewhere...
