'Graphit Blau Metallic'...
Til yesterday i'd never seen one in the flesh.
Stop by the dealer there was a GB 911 under
the sun,what a deception! There's not an
once of blue in that color it look like another
boring shade of grey to me. I dont know
why Porsche mess with funny colors like
that, remember Lime gold? I think you
can't go wrong with colors like Guard
red or White they are timeless.

believe all the colors Porsche should offer to
the public are 'Guards Red' and 'White!
On a more serious note, it should give some
comfort to know that the 'color consultant/
fashionista' that suggested to PAG the ghastly
'Lime Gold Metallic' on the 991.1 met a timely
death in the basement of the old 'Customer
Center' at Werk II in Zuffenhausen.
He will not be missed. It should be a powerful
lesson to these high-priced designers to never
make a mistake like that again! We all suffered
enormously from seeing the likes of this on the
showrooms:
Content Alert: The following could be
disturbing to many adults & all minors!
********************
that Aetna (Porsche color code 6003) had much
more blue than 'Graphite Blue Metallic'. And also
importantly, it is a 'solid/uni' color, not a 'metallic'
like 'GBM'!
Today's 'Aetna Blau/Etna Blue' confirms that, as
Porsche remembers it, the color has quite a bit
more blue tint than 'Graphite Blue Metallic'.
'Aetna Blau' is currently available as PTS. It is
color code Y31. Below is the 'Exclusive Design
Edition' which was recently released in this old
356 color:
******************
The run will last the remainder of the 991.2 & 718
model. You can tell because Porsche interior designers
have created a specifc interior color combo that bears
the same name - 'Graphite Blue'. And it is meant to
coordinate the interior to this exterior color...plus a
few others!
Porsche has long-term contracts with manufacturers
like 'Lear' to supply them 'fully assembled seats' at
the production line in Zuffenhausen. And once these
seat colors are decided on by the Board & are part of
the official configurator, they usually stay on for the
'duration'.
So the exterior color 'Graphite Blue' is here to stay for
as long as the .2 991 & 718 models lasts. That is until
the new 992 arrives!

'Graphit Blau Metallic'
I would like to remind some of you that we made news
here at Rennlist back in July 2015 in discovering and
reporting that 'Graphite Blue Metallic' might be a new
color to be offered on the about-to-be-released .2 991
& other Porsche models. In fact, we posted the first
photo of this color as it sat on the test track at Porsche
Leipzig:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...2015-a-10.html
And 'Graphit Blau Metallic' color has proven to be one of
the most popular colors in the current Porsche palette!
This is particularly significant because Porsche has done
something quite unusual here...for PAG, that is! Audi has
been experimenting with it for years! And the 'unsual' thing
is creating a 'metallic' that from the distance looks very much
like a 'solid/uni' color! I believe Audi calls their line of similar
metallics 'Mica'. And they are simply stunning! I believe
Porsche just has one color like this in their quiver - and
it's 'Graphite Blue Metallic'. And trust me, it is a winner!

Arghh, that Lime Gold is so awful. How did they ever sell those cars...
Re: concrete, I mean graphite, blue, IMO it looks way better in pictures than real life. In certain pictures, especially under certain light, it looks amazing. In real life, it's a boring, concrete like color. Worse yet, it shows dirt and swirls really badly. I was totally underwhelmed the first time I saw it in the flesh, and the SA's at my dealership were joking about how awful it was.

I agree with those who say it looks better in photos than it does in real life. Don't order this color until you've seen it in person and are sure it's for you.

"Forgot to paint it".
Right, that is the very reason I love this color at the first instant I saw it and chose it.
This color reminds me some of the unpainted statues, toy cars and figures. Those plastic toys I bought then painted myself. The GBM looks exactly like that.

Hahaha...one of the funniest and likely true comments I've ever read. You sir win the internet!
Graphite blue looks like shiny gray primer to me in most pictures. Up close and in the sun it is not as bad as you can see the metalflake. My wife said looks like they forgot to paint it.
Oh well to each their own.

Boy, Eduardo, that 356 really looks like Meissen Blue, a lighter shade. Possibly a PTS ? or original paint, but faded ?
Here's what Aetna Blue looks like in a new respray to correct formula:

Just a random photo of 'Aetna' from the
internet, which reinforces what I always
say; 'Never trust a photo of a Porsche
color. You need to see it in person'.

As you know, 'Aetna' is available as PTS
via Porsche today (color code Y31).

And yes, 'Aetna' is very light sensitive. It can look lighter blue in full sun:
And darker in afternoon light:
