2018 model year changes

Interesting...
The Canadian build site is back up. Base price for C4 is the same and option prices also appear to be the same. I note that there is no longer an option selection for "Multifunction Heated Steering Wheel" which now shows up as an item under "Standard Features".
So, the 2017 car I have on order actually costs about $500.00 more than if I ordered one today.
US build site doesn't show multifunction and heated steering wheel as standard. Car Connect is standard in the US. Car Connect Plus with 4G LTE, traffic, etc. is now showing as standard in Canada. My build shows Car Connect, but no mention of Car Connect Plus.
Will be interesting to see what changes have been made to the PCM display.

Brilliant analysis. I think our builds might be the last 2017s coming off the production lines
My build seems to be $1200 more, which is much more than what I will lose in 2017 vs 2018 first year depreciation.

Cool. At the yearly rate adjustment of 1.5-2% the 992 base carrera will break 100k after adding colored seat belts and bose stereo. Fingers crossed we get lucky and they bless us with extravagant standard features like leather dash and door panels or power seats.

The cars all depreciate at the same rate, but I see your point between a 2017 delivered in June and a 2018 delivered in August/Sept. Of course you lose the summer to drive, which makes a difference if like me you have snow on the ground for 5 - 6 months of the year.

As to the value of the 991.1 relative to 991.2, my dealer has been getting ridiculously health prices for the C4S cars he had on the lot, primarily due to low mileage. I doubt the NA vs non NA argument has much to do with that.
Anyway, they aren't appreciating assets and depending on your age, every year you aren't in one is a year you won't get back *the young guys have more years to let opportunity slip by).

And once the 992 generation comes out in June 2018 as a 2019 model, entire 991/991.2 generation will lose $30,000 right off the bat.

My build sheet has my Targa GTS listed as a 2017, right now fully specced it's about $1000 cheaper than a 2018. I am expecting July delivery, I'm not sure if I'm getting a 2017 or bumped to 2018.

I just checked the configurator, it looks like the increased the price for $2000 for the Targa GTS in Canada but threw in the Multifunction Steering Wheel as standard, which was a $500 option.
