Objectively, if you have a factory-painted key then you need a pouch of some sort or the paint will chip quickly. If you have the standard key or you get color-infused plastic key sides (from e-bay) then it's not necessary.
Otherwise, it's subjective. Whatever lifts your luggage...

I have it, I like it. If you have the keyless entry option it's a no brainer.
only issue I have is on the rare occasion I valet most of them don't know what to do with it because it completely covers all the buttons. I get it back either opened up or stretched.

I have it too. I like it, as I have Porsche Entry and Drive.
I think it looks nice and it keeps the key from getting scratched and damaged as mentioned above.

I don't want to get the pouch, because thats even more bulk on my keychain, but if there is a more durable plastic key sides out there, I would be very intererested in that.

I still may buy it even though my car isn't entry and drive, its a good place to store it when its in my pocket with other keys and coins and stuff. unless anyone else has other suggestions?

Tell me more about the color infused plastic key sides. I purchased the guards red key sides from suncoast, which are supposedly OEM, but yes they do chip easily.

I got the GT Silvers almost 2 years ago for my "main" drivers key, and left my spare key black. The Silvers look exactly as they did when new.
