Successful for Porsche, not necessarily for those of us who prefer to drive a car that's fairly unusual. My preference would be for 911s to sell at the very bottom of the "enough revenues to keep the plant open" curve. I would also be happy if models hung around without significant updates for a full 7-8 year model run. Often enough to not be painfully out of date, but infrequent enough to be charmingly old-skool by the end of a run.
Dammit. I was hoping my eloquent post would have quickly gotten them to change their minds.
By the way, 911 sales were down last year over 2015.
Sports cars will continue to struggle in my opinion going forward. Lots of competition in the segment, and I think overall slow growth in demand overall for sports cars.
How does Porsche get away with charging more for PDK in a GTS than a C2S?
AFAIK it includes the Sport Chrono package, which is optional in a C2S, and this Sport Chrono package has more functions with a PDK than with a manual.
Vise: I'm referring to the bottom bolsters. Do you have a picture of outside edge you're referencing?
This is the best I could find, as you can see the outside edge of the bottom bolster is leather same as the 991.1 GTS. In my experience the portion of the bottom bolster closest to the seat back is the main place you'll eventually see wear... net is the new seats are just cosmetic changes and not going to wear any different long term.

Like most have chosen I too went with leather. I plan on keeping my GTS for a while and leather will hold up long. And smells better!
