What’s with calling a 911 C2 “The Base”? Sounds so cheap and almost like an apology, if it’s even possible to call a six-figure car cheap or something to be ashamed of. So, Is the gt2 RS “the top shelf”. Lol.
I referred to them as C2, C2S, etc. Not trying to start a fight, just seemed odd to me, perhaps I have been wrong, I have been referring to mine as a 911 C2 ; )

I don't mind calling my 2017 C2 the "base" model, especially since it is faster than every previous generation S, all the GTS models through 2011, and even capital T turbos (and GT3's) through around 2001. In fact it makes me feel rather sensible in buying the base model.

Well that is true! I did drive the C2S, Back to back with the C2 I didn’t feel it was $15k+ plus faster, well at least to me. I did like the red brakes, but it was also not Miami Blue either. Perhaps it was me just being practical buying the $115k 911, right? LMAO
Do we still get full P-Car Club rights and preveiliges? Joking!

I love Miami Blue.
Anyhoo...I call it my 3.4.
Wife calls it fugly.
Non car people in my office call it 911.
My assistant calls it beautiful.
Guy next to my office with GT3 calls it gutless.
I call him short and fat.
The end.

Some people here would call a non leather interior Porsche “base”.

I wonder if Ferrari guys call the California the "Base"? McLaren? Aston Martin Vantage?

A friend ordered a base GT3.2 so yeah even that gets coined "base"
Nothing wrong with using base IMO... a standard C2 is still one hell of a base car.

Picked her up in October, traded in a Basalt balck/black '09 C2, hard to let go of that car but very happy with the new beast. I call her the Flying Nun, an homage to 8 years of Catholic School. Already changed the side markers. The clear markers make a HUGE improvement on a white car. I'll post those later.
