fair 991.2 discount
hey there,
I'm thinking about replacing my 997 C2S cab daily driver with a 991.2 C2S cab.
The last two porsches I purchased were GT3s and were MSRP or no sale, so I've forgotten what is a normal discount on regular 911s
I did a search but mainly found information on 991.1 discounts, particularly in the last year of the 991.1.
Would appreciate input on what is a fair average discount these days on a custom ordered 991.2 C2S ? (not a car from the lot)
Thank you

Forget about what others have gotten - what do you want for a discount? Figure that out and go get it.
Pretty easy these days. When you go to any Porsche dealer website, a popup window appears with a cute young lady pictured, asking: "Can I help you?".
Your answer: "Yes, I want to buy a Porsche 911." Her answer: "When were you thinking of purchasing a car?" Your answer: "Today." Her answer: "I'll have someone call your contact number right away."
A "Porsche Brand Ambassador" calls your contact number asking: "How do you want to finance it?"
If you say "cash," get ready for a struggle to get any discount. If you find rejection a hard thing to cope with, don't say cash. But cash buying is the true way to establish whether or not you really got a discount.
If you say you need a loan then they like you. And you'll get a good discount and they'll make up the difference by sticking you with a high interest rate. But, you'll be able to say you got a "good" discount.
If you say you need a lease, they'll love you and will give you just about anything you want because they, in the end, will make a ton of money off you. But, you'll be able to say you got a "big" discount.
If you have a trade.....your on shaky ground claiming you got any discount at all.
Bottom line: A "fair" discount depends on the financial commitments of the sale. Someone claiming he or she got X% discount means very little without those details.

I've already discussed my possible .2 4/4S build with my SA, all cash, and he's assured me that I can get a reasonable discount on the car.

I on the other hand don't get it. I got 5% paying cash, interest rates are either negotiable or loans available elsewhere, and after the deal I said I have a trade in and want what autotrader says it's worth at the time and miles and that was accepted without issue.
