also there are two harnesses in the kit, one for the Cabriolet and one for the coupe. You might want to make sure that nothing was swapped there too.

Hey Joe, I'm looking possibly purchasing a used ducktail off eBay for my 2013 991 base. How much of it is plug and play vs. needing other various parts associated with the kit (mounting bracket, etc)?

There are quite a few pieces you need to install this including the base piece, bolts, harnesses. Can you show me the auction and I can better figure out what else you might need.

Anyone have the ducktail installation manual saved? The link is now restricted access. Much appreciated.

This thread makes it seem like the install is very straightforward -- there is no way I can do this without the service manual / instructions.

Had the OEM Ducktail retrofitted to my 991.1 (2014). Brought it to the dealership and they were unable to code out the spoiler alert warning and code in the 3rd tail light on the new duck tail. They claim that there is no setting within the DME for a fixed spoiler. I asked if I needed a new DME or if there is another solution and they have no idea.

I have an appointment now with a local indy shop who thinks they can do it.

Has anyone else ran into this issue before? I'm just surprised that a Porsche dealership has no answers. I did see in another thread that one might be able to the speed at which the spoiler alert appears and create a jumper wire to get the third light to work. May have to resort to that. But I can't understand why this is an issue with OEM parts.

Try another dealer. I had a dealer reprogram my 2014 five years ago. Should still be able to do it.

+1 try another dealer. the coding is definitely possible but buried into the sub-menus so they probably didnt want to look for it.
