I love the 18 way seats. 14 ways are harder and you sit on top of them. 18 ways are softer, have more adjustments and you sit in them.

My question is, Which seat seems to SELL the best??
I always look at a purchase as something I want, but also what will other most likely want when Time to sell and move to the next car.

I think being a larger guy, I'd like the 18 ways to hold me in more for aggressive driving. My 997.2 has the Sport Seats with the wider upper area.
Those seem to be what most prefer to purchase.

4 way or 18 way, IMO. My favorite of all the 991s has been the 4 ways. You sink down in them more and they hold you in better, whereas with the 18 ways, the cushions don’t sink down nearly as much....probably because of all the motors and such. 4 ways are lighter with less junk to break down the road as well.

The 4 way and 18 way seats are both “sport seats” like the 997 with the shoulder flares. The 14 way look like base 997 seats. I avoid all 14 way seats in 991s, so no comment there.

Thank you
Pretty much what I was thinking as well. When upgrading, I'll look for the 18ways I think...

Vented 18ways FTW, i'm not bothered by a couple more pounds as I'm not in the quest for weight savings as I don't track the car, I daily drive it ( comfortability in the car is the highest priority). I like these seats better than what was on my previous Panamera 4s.

18 ways. No desire to sink down.

Looks like the 14-way has seat backrest, seat height, fore/aft position, seat cushion inclination, seat cushion depth & lumbar support. The 18-way has 3 additional controls including: seat cushion side bolster, backrest side bolster and height and fore/aft adjustment of steering column.

I am leaning towards the 4-way seats but have some specific questions about them:

1. Is the seat different than the 14-way seat?
2. Does it support rearview mirrors lowering in reverse mode? (configurator let's you select it).
3. What are the "4" seat controls?
4. Are all the controls electric or mechanical
5. What steering column controls do you get with the 4-way seats?

Thanks in advance.
I've compared the base 4 way to the 18 way and felt the 18 way was much more comfortable. My wife felt the same way. The adjustable seat and back bolsters and the thigh support made a big difference. It fits like a glove.

All controls are electric. I didn't actually bother with steering wheel controls, didn't have too.

I also have the button settings which moves all the adjustments depending on the driver (when of course I let my wife drive..). She has her own now.

IN the spirit of not starting a new thread...

Can someone confirm that 18-Way (heated and cooled) are plug N Play in a 991.1 with 14-Way Heated and cooled option?

is there a difference in wiring harness or any module needed?

Thank you in advance

I'd like to know the same, though I have been assuming it's compatible (from either reading it in other threads or an educated guess). Where are you sourcing your 18s?

I have black/platinum interior and I don't think I'll ever come across a decent set of platinum vented 18s on eBay or CL. I'm considering recoloring a black or brown pair but worried about dye in the vent holes and losing the contrasting stitching.

It sucks, but my back just wasn't made for the 14s. Thought I could get used to it but it bothers every time I'm in the car.

I am just starting to look and will start scouring online salvage yards, bound to find one eventually.

In your care yes you will have to be extremely lucky to find one. Instead of dyeing one, I would say make a set go black ones work for you. They may look good and the contrast may be OK.
