Pretty soon you'll be able to specify, say, 438 horsepowers on the build sheet, pay a fee for every one above base, and Porsche will just code your engine to that before delivery. Why bother with all the different model names.

Perfect, this is the company I contacted.
The Boss Wife bought the car in the first place!! I lucked out and married a closet car addict, trust me no issues.
She's even letting me keep the 328xi as a DD, I love the hydraulic steering it has and the OEM performance exhaust, talk about a perfect love triangle this setup takes the cake

Thanks again

In the literature posted by Larry. I've noticed that the life expectancy of the motor is only 150k miles. Does anyone know what the projected life expectancy of the N/A motor was when reviewed?

That's just the expected life of the evaporative emissions control system and the exhaust hardware, not the engine as a whole.

Interesting comment from GT3 forum indicated 991.2 GTS might be delayed. Chris's info are constantly accurate in the past.

GT3 RS June 2018

In usual fashion, model announcements to the market will be 4-6 months in advance. GT3 formal release is Geneva 2017.

Also, I was told yesterday that the 991.2 GTS may be delayed because the 991.2 S/4S is selling so well that there is no need to rush the GTS to market to act as the end of life sales kicker for when sales start to slow down.

The question that has never been posed on this forum is how the alleged 991.2 GTS will differ from the base 991.2 and the 991.2 S. Given that the standard engine on the 991.2 is a 3.0 liter turbo and the 991.2 GTS will be a 3.0 liter turbo, where will the differences between standard and GTS lie besides subtle accessories? My 991.1 3.8 liter GTS has some dramatic differences from the standard 991.1S. Please explain your insight.

My speculation would be turbos marginally bigger than the S model and a few cosmetic goodies (?)

The 991.1 GTS already has 3.8 liter, wide body and CL wheels, also PSE, x51, yaddayaddayadda. What can be added to a 991.2 to make it a GTS?

Easy. Wide body, PSE, SC, Alcantara standard, different grill and front fascia. Maybe PDCC standard too....

It will have more boost to get the extra 30 hp to 450hp. And maybe some more engine bits like the X51 has.

Just my speculation but it makes sense to me.
