Default Who actually uses their PDK in manual mode

So i tried the PDK car and as a long standing manual driver, wasn't really impressed though i know that it takes some getting used to , especially with old dogs like me.

Now, i also fear that with the PDK, that especially in the city i would be most of the time driving in automatic mode. I just seems silly to start pushing buttons when you have a choice.

So with that said, i wanted to know, how many people are actually using their PDK for every day city driving in manual mode and to what percentage?

Thanks,
manuaguy

Seriously? Another thread when you're just talking about this in the "running PDK" thread you already started?

What exactly is your problem? This is a different post? Do you even bother reading the content?

First post was about people's experiences with the manual transmission. Here I am asking how people are using PDK cars.

What exactly is so irritating to you? I suggest you don't bother posting replies if the original thread is not agreeable to you.

No-one is trolling. What exactly the issue with what I am asking here?

Because it's basically the same as the other "running it" (sic) thread - "I don't think I like PDK, help me decide."

I do. 100% of the time. Sport +, shocks turned off (unless actually caning it in the mountains, in which case it's Sport +, shocks turned on.)

Yes , but it's coming at a different angle and addressees a different concern about PDK, hence a separate thread.

Dismissing it as trolling doesn't do it justice as this is clearly not my aim. I simply want to know how the majority of PDK owners use their cars as I have concerns that I fall into the pattern of using it as an automatic (shudder). Looking for anecdotal evidence to see if that is a legitimate concern or not.

That has nothing to do with trolling, so let's get a way from knee jerk labeling and focus on content here.

Thanks for your input. I wonder if you are the exception or the norm

OK fine.

I've had 4 manual Porsches and 2 PDKs. Currently on a PDK.

I almost never put it into 100% manual mode. Maybe I will try this for a while and see how I like it.

Fairly frequently I will use a paddle which puts it into "temporary" manual mode until you leave it alone and it goes back into automatic mode.

Thanks , that's great input. I actually asked something about that in the other thread. so paddle shifts only put in temporary manual mode which is what I was experiencing.

But why on earth would they do that? Does anyone actually use the stick to sift in a PDK? the whole point is fast shifting and it's obviously faster when your hands are on the wheel.

I don't know, one more reason to go for a manual

You can place the PDK into Manual mode. This is the mode I usually drive in, I love to either slap the shifter or use the buttons (I have the multi-function wheel) . I have a long history with manuals, I still enjoy driving a manual, but the PDK is pretty awesome.

Porsche does not make a bad transmission, drive both and decide or buy the Bmw for an inferior driving experience.
