@Geologist I've been driving with the numeric shifter (stiffer spring, no cables) for a few years and it is indeed transformative. Been to lazy to do the cables but want to get to it eventually. What noises coasting in 7th are you referring to? That's not something I've heard of before.

Pound for pound, I'm not sure. What I can tell you, is that this was no where near as heavy as the OEM combination. It is all stainless and the "cats" are empty, so theres that too. Haha and honestly it looks more spaghetti than it really is. It's an X-pipe under a muffler case.

I need to figure out the exhaust valving situation though, it's backwards from OEM...it wouldn't be a problem, but the valves are commanded "open" when the car sees them "closed" under load and high rpm (normal mode). Obviously they are normally closed and OEM is normally open.

You got it. Wouldn't hesitate to order again, though. Super responsive and it looks really good. Goes in for paint today, hopefully have it back on before the end of next week.

on 991? It was a common issue on 997 never heard it happened on 991.
now I'm wondering if I should be doing cables as well. Getting stuck in 3rd on my 997 sucked.

I think it is just the steel cables vibrating along with transmission sounds. The first time I drove it, I had the shop check it out, and they said it was normal with the cables. It's not very loud and only noticeable coasting at slower speeds in 7th.

I did drive a 991.2 with the shifter and no cables, and you can tell a difference. He had the softer spring, so it's not a 1:1 comparison, but mine has absolutely no flex and feels completely mechanical. It goes from great to AMAZING.

Default Reprogramming needed?

Looks AMAZING. Do you have any idea how this affects the areo on the car while the spoiler is up? I track mine a couple of times a year and would be curious if this would cause any issues. Did you get your wind angle reprogrammed?

The problems I've seen on the 997 weren't the cables, but the nylon connections to the gearbox. For friends I've installed aluminum replacements to avoid on the road instantaneous failures.

No idea on aero, but I can't see it being much. I went from the non sports design spoiler to this. IF it looks like it's a problem, I will get it reprogrammed. It really doesn't look like it should be. Or at least I am not too worried. Car won't get tracked. Once I get it back from paint, we'll see what it looks like and how the car behaves. It's pretty subtle. Still wish we had a full ducktail option for the .2, but this is at least gorgeous in person.

it’s damn sexy. Are you leaving any of the carbon exposed or going full paint? Good example on Carbonwerks website.

Another +1 for sportshifter custom shifters. Installed on a numeric shifter as well.

Full paint. With the car being Grey Black and having no other exposed carbon...Just wouldn't look right. And if I do carbon external pieces in the future, it will be matte. Spoiler was more about design than anything for me.
