I'm curious about what products you're using, and what's your next move after the paint correction is complete?
High end steamer was used to remove the film, no glue left over to deal with. Combination of pads and Menzerna Product to bring the clarity back. Looks like someone hit it with a rotary and wool pad prior to the PPF in 2019. Going to use Jescar Polylock + to coat it. I don't Ceramic my summer cars, id rather a nice sealant I can work with and care for.

Isn't the paint going to get trashed without the PPF tho? Where I live so much sand and gravel being kicked up by construction trucks, pickup trucks etc your front end gets trashed quick without PPF
I don't really see that issue around here. this is an occasional driver, and I don't tail gate, drive on the highway to commute etc. Id rather get some slight paint damage I can repair and fix, than PPF that is unrepairable and dimishes finish quality.

I'm at this same crossroads. My PPF is now 9-10 years old and the edges are looking ugly. I would like to remove it and correct the paint but I can't decide if I would dare leave it or put it back on.

PPF should be changed every 5 years. I'm about to redo mine. They say its non yellowing, I guess on most colours you wouldn't notice, but mine being a white car, I can tell.
PPF self heals for must blemishes. I see cars that go on country runs get peppered and destroyed paint work, I'd never be without PPF. Especially on the track.

My PPF is finishing up on 4 years and it looks quite nice.
Had the paint corrected when I bought the car, the PPF applied, and then ceramic coat applied. Have had this done to all of the vehicles we own.
1. On the 911 it has 'saved' a respray on the front bumper when somebody backed into the car in a parking lot and left a 12 inch scratch. I was worried that it would require new PPF, and a respray. After a wash, there was no evidence of damage.
2. It has held up incredibly well with only minor irregularities, but no paint damage. They use a ton of gravel and sand on the roads during the winter. Will likely end up replacing next fall.
3. We have 2 white cars, and they still look white, as it is not yet discernible where there is PPF and where there is no PPF. But have seen PPF that has clearly turned yellow.
4. Each year the quality of the PPF seems to improve.
@996scott At close to 10 years I can imagine that the edges are lifting and holding dirt. At that point it clearly needs replacing, but has done its job. Would be interesting in seeing the condition of the paint, and how much work it needs. I would re do the PPF and ceramic coat it.
