I cleaned with alcohol before I installed them- but will say rennline refunded my purchase without question so I give them that. I will try and remember who sells the kind that attach with screws.
I went with the Blackmill (stick-on) version because It was reviewed as doing a better job in general since its fins are larger. Plus, my 991 was one of the variants that needs the door card to be removed for install with the AWE and I didn't want to take that route in case I needed to remove them. I was worried about it flying off too to be honest, but knock-on-wood they've held on very well.

2nd for the blackmill here. I have done many track days and daily driven for the past 3+ years with them, and they are not going anywhere.

Do you notice more wind noise with them (highway speed, windows closed)? I noticed the wind noise one day and wasn't sure if it was the deflectors or not. I never took notice of it before the install.

I have had them on for so long I don't remember what the car sounded like before. Also I am running full race cats and straight exhaust with FF Transmission mount, Numeric Racing Cables, and monoballs on my suspension, so I get all sorts of noises that were not there when stock LOL
+1 with the AWE. Installed 4 years ago on my 2014CS with screws and did not require door card removal. Looks OEM and no wind buffeting at cruising speed with one or both windows down.

After installing winter wheels/tires, roof transport + ski/snowboard rack, I’ve finally had a chance to take the C4S up to the slopes. Parked in 20-25cm of snow with no issues earlier.
also special shout-out to Brock (b2prototec.com)— I’ve added the wireless MagSafe ash tray mount with no fitment issues to my RHD 991.2

I also have the Blackmill version. They’ve been on almost 8 years (one of my first mods - one drive with the windows open will convince you that you NEED them), including track days. They are very effective at eliminating wind resonance with the windows down, and make no added wind noise with the windows up.

Blackmill makes a great product and takes seconds to install. This is of particular importance if you have a 991.1 where the actual part replacement involves messing with the door panel and frankly fairly involved work for such a small detail. Now, if you have a 991.2 (I do and bought these), check these out: https://awe-tuning.com/collections/f...67238&iuf=true It's a true replacement part as opposed to a stick-on part. I only encourage these if you have a 991.2 because the install is still only minutes (unlike the 991.1) and you are replacing the entire factory part.
I also installed the AWE product on my 991.2. Easy install. I only put on the driver's side diffuser. Keeps buffeting down to a reasonable level. Recommended.

I believe only the early 2013 991.1 requires the removal of the door panel to install the AWE diffuser. As I mentioned on post #7596 above, I installed the AWE diffuser on my 2014 981 which is the same door/panel as the 991.1 in 5 minutes with the screw that did not require removing the door panel. If you pop off the interior triangle trim piece and there is a small Philips screw visible then you have the latter design door that does not require the door panel removal to install the AWE diffuser.

I live in southeast Mass, and I bought fuel for my car yesterday. Why have I posted this??? It'd friggin February in Mass and it's 65 degrees today. Took day off from work so I could put the top down and go for a 2 hour drive. And today, Saturday, it was 47 degrees so we ran errands with it. It's Winter...If this is global warming, I'm all in.
