Nice! Heard a lot of owners stop at #2 and are pretty happy - wanted to do in stages in case I am too. Other than the slim box, if you could do it all over, what would you change?
I'm pretty happy with sound quality right now. But it was pretty harsh spending for knowing I'll not get anything back.
If I do it over, I will spec out burmester and just change tweeters and add sound deadening and call it a day (cheaper this way and I will get some money back, haha).
But if I really want to be spending cautious on Bose system, #1 tweeters and #2 sound deadening ($80 + elbow grease time) are the must. Then I'll see if I need a sub ($500-800) and bypass amp/speaker upgrade (this is going to cost 6-8k) to keep total budget around 1.5k and other than sound deadening, all can be removed easily.
I'm sure alot of audiophile will disagree with me bypassing all speakers but from my experience with 911 (loud and enjoying the exhaust/engine sound more than other cars), I'll be happy with detailed/smooth high with true bass and tighter sound from sound deadening (and rest of audio upgrade money can go to cats/headers for a different "audio upgrade").
So long story short, go with tweeters + sound deadening first and enjoy for a while and see if you need rest of spearers + amp, just a subwoofer or spend money for cats/headers since used cats holds value better than stocks these days.

Great feedback here! Looks like I’m on the right path audio-wise, but like the different “audio upgrade” with cats/headers. Going to add that to the list. Not too much into subs, but like a little bass, so won’t rule it out. Thanks for your posts and thoughts, it really helps, as I’m sure it will to others here.

I think you need to hear how a nice sub and amp upgrade sounds in our cars. I also did headers and exhaust. I 100% don't regret any of them.
I also added Dynaudio 10" in the doors, 4" Morels in the doors and a fully tuned DSP, along with the Dynaudio tweeter.
I had the 8" slim powered sub, which I loved but eventually swapped to a 10" JL in a ported box on the rear shelf with a JL 500x1 amp under the drivers seat.
It sounds fantastic and would argue better than the burmester, at a lower cost.

Awesome set up! I will likely add a sub, just in stages.
The plan, so far…
Already in process/scheduled: TechArt lowering springs and powder coating rims/calipers. Haven’t found the rims that I like yet.
Next up-
#1 - tweeters and sound deadening, disconnect center speaker.
#2 - cat/headers
#3 - tune
#4 - amp and sub
have the same wheels but not Center locks,,,AUgment? barrels are easy to reach to clean, love mine
Yep, they were great to deal with. Being custom I increased the offsets to account for the camber in the front and back. The fill the fenders out well now. I also did a ceramic coat on them before installing. 5 spokes would have been a breeze to clean, now they are amazing. I'm coating all my wheels now

they look great on your car. What brand ceramic product did you use? Thanks
Switched from the Cobb stage 1 tune (new version) to Softronic in my 991.2 Carrera today. I rolled the dice and only had my battery hooked up to a 1.2a battery maintainer during the long tune process, even though they say you need a 40a (others recommend 20a+) charger hooked up due to the draw on the battery. This is on the original battery too (12.6v still though). All went well, no bricked ECU.
In terms of this vs. the Cobb, I do like Softronic better. At partial throttle it isn't as quick and the throttle isn't quite as sensitive (quicker throttle ramp up is common on tunes to make it feel faster than it is), but it makes for a noticeably smoother experience around town which is nice. I did a few pulls and it definitely feels about 30hp stronger, with a more linear powerband and seems like it makes more power higher in the rev range. Overall very happy. I won't be going back to the Cobb unless I get a pro-tune later on down the road if I feel like dealing with multiple remote tuning dyno sessions
