I would do the filter since you are doing the 4 year service. The others I would pass on. If you are not interested in a tune (many that are moderate and add decent power) then focus on air inlets. The plenum may give 5-10 up but no likely without a tune.
No one seems to discuss this, but these oiled aftermarket filters require continual re-application of oil or they do not effectively filter. Other cars the filter was easy to access for this service, but on the 991.2 it is a total PITA to get to the air filter.
When I was an engineer at Ford there was a white paper about K&N filters that started from an incident with a large construction company that had replaced all of their truck air filters with K&N. After a year or so they started having issues, engine failures, etc., and the analysis showed the filters were the cause as they were oil based and had not been re-oiled regularly enough. Combine that with the dusty work sites they were used on, and the result was drastically shortened engine life.
From that experience I base my own decision to not run oil filters in my street cars, as I don’t find the trade off beneficial enough to justify a minimal and essentially meaningless power increase. I certainly would never use one in a car where it requires removal of the rear fascia and additional panels/hoses/harnesses to access and service/re-oil the filter. I know we aren’t driving on work sites or what not like the scenario mentioned above, but again, the risk to me is not worth the reward.

^^This is the exact reason I also did not go with those filters. To each their own, but I chose to stick with traditional air filters.
Hi Noah, I live in DTLA and have one of those Chinese PIWIS 2 you can borrow, I have yet to figure out to get into the coding sections. I have mostly used it for trouble codes and some calibrations stuff. I know you have to put it into engineering mode and do things like that, but have yet to experiment. But you are more than welcome to borrow it and experiment on your own car.

Yah I was in SF for a long time, I moved to LA in 2020. Better car culture, cheaper and better driving roads.
Finally got my pre-owned PSE installed. It was super easy with the rear bumper heat shield removed. Didn't have any seized bolts/nuts, vacuum line routing was a little tricky but accomplished. I also installed a new 3rd brake light harness in the spoiler to eliminate the fail code I get when the spoiler deploys at speed.
Now I need to get the button programmed. Anyone in SoCal have a PIWIS system I can use for 15 minutes? I pay in beer!
Two weeks ago, a Boston dealer charged me 1 Hour/$209 to program the button (another area dealer quoted $400) , so it all depends on how much beer you expect to provide

And roads in LA are terrible, but that's pretty standard everywhere in this state save a few places (Irvine comes to mind) but as Joe said, there is some decent driving to be had once you get out of the crowded middle.

I’m up there every other Friday now that I’m on a 9/80 work schedule, but I’m traveling this month for trade shows and conferences so I probably won’t make it again until June 3rd. We could meet up sometime at the Panera in La Cañada if you want to cruise together.

Love it! One of my old Bimmerforums buddies, Danoush, is up there every week in his Fiesta ST, always pumped to see the pics! Incredible range of new and old. Kinda feel like my modded E38 wouldn't be out of place either.
