I thought the same. That was hand's down the weirdest salsa dance I've ever seen. She might want to stick to driving.

She does have great legs though!

She sits so uncomfortably close to the steering wheel!

That's the proper driving position. With the wheel close you are using you arm muscles and not your rotator cuffs. That makes a big difference in terms of fatigue and in terms of actual control. Pay attention to videos of professionals and you will not likely see any that drive with arms extended.

Of course the ideal driving position is the one which provides the driver with the most comfortable driving position, but my recollection is that I was instructed to adjust the car's seat position so that I'd have approximately a 120-degree bend in my arms. Any closer (90-degree bend or less) and you begin to confine your arm movements and you may be too close to your airbag.

At my first track event the instructor had me move my seat forward until my wrist rested on the steering wheel. Though I was skeptical I didn't argue and complied, it really helped to decouple my body in the seat from my arms/hands at the wheel. This has been my default position every since.

checkout Paul Freere on the importance of driver positioning ... and its not "close" to the wheel.

The braking is the most important aspect when sport driving. Ideally seat positioning is dictating off of that peramiter.

Agree. This is what I have been taught at two different racing courses. Rebecca's position was much closer than this, though, I wouldn't sit as far forward as she did.

If I get stuck on a desert island with one other person, and I had to choose between the two, I'd definitely pick Rebecca Jackson.

Not a bad way to go rather than subjective opinions on a car most haven't driven
