Funny you mention that because I'm very tempted to stop mine too.
I've given him some slack (and money I guess) because I really like his reviews but I'm growing impatient - I'll probably stop next month unless he starts pushing out reviews again.

Chris Harris could be contractually precluded from reviewing cars outside of Top Gear now that he's a presenter on the show.

I don't think we know for sure he's hosting it, do we?
If it were the case, I'd hope he would announce it on his youtube channel and cancel his patreon campaign…

When you wrote "Chris E" in your first post I read "Chris H."

I've heard rumours that the originally-chosen JC replacement was a d-bag and that's who CH is replacing. The original d-bag is gone for season two, but filming for season one is done.

Evans is a hugely popular and successful broadcaster in the UK, and is also a well known petrolhead with a very impressive personal collection of cars, so we will
have to see how it all works out...

I doubt Evans would be fired until the 1st season airs and the results are in, and
I doubt they would take the risk to replace him with a relatively unknown (from
TV etc) front man like Harris ...

only time will tell...

While I don't know much about Chris Evans (aside from seeing him on the old Top Gear) his car collection is serious business. The collection of white Ferrari's is just bonkers... white F40 and 288 GTO!

Reputation and car collection aside, from what I have heard and read there has been a lot of turn-over on the top gear crew, the first season will prove to be craptastic, and that C-E is the primary reason. Perhaps this is all wrong and he's like working with a fuzzy kitten.

And now it happened - CH just tweeted that he is cancelling his Patreon account. I'd like to think I had something to do with it
He also promised to release 4 new videos soon, one of which is the 991.1GTS review - whohoo!

Then you could assume this is as close as confirmation you can get that his career is taking a turn into something else - which together with other rumours will be a good thing

I hope it's a TV show we can see in the US (Top Gear or else) - I think he'd be a great host.

Agreed, I don't see how any other result is possible given the turnover and ongoing rumours about the production/talent issues. Assuming he is confirmed Chris Harris is great and all but I don't think Top Gear sees itself as being a standard car review show. Nor will the BBC be happy with the viewership if it becomes more Fifth Gear and less Top Gear of old.

Cannot wait to see the 991.1 GTS review if it's true. Thanks for the info.
