Just got my build sheet. Looks like my schedule is close to JustBud's. My SA did think they might beat it and have delivery sometime in December. I hope so. Great present.

That's great, congrats!

If all goes well, I'll have mine in six weeks.

Yes, there are. I wonder how many different configuratiosn one can make?

Anyway, I think all 911's are great cars and jealous for many of them. They all have their unique attributes. Right now my dealership has a 993 for sale at 29K. My SA said it would take 15K to make it perfect. What a deal. There is a 912 on Bring-a-Trailer I'd love to have. It goes on and on...

So when I saw this post, I also thought - what a deal! 993 is the last of the air-cooled. Hello Watercooled.

I know Manhattan Motorcars has a stocklist that is a porsche lovers dream. However, I also know they like to pick prices out of their bumholes. Literally... if they were in the grocery business... "Bottle of milk? $25" - They just assign a price.

Have a look for yourselves...

Great to see another aerokit build coming

And I second that earlier comment - a lot of beautiful builds are coming through!

I had to make one (rather unexpected) compromise for my wife on the build. I wanted to spec the car with just 911 on the back, and she insisted it say 911 turbo. I didn't expect that, and even more surprising, she was quite resolute! No idea why, but it's hardly a meaningful compromise, and if she stops caring it's easy to change later on.

I have to side with her... IMHO I think it should either say "911 turbo" or say nothing - as those who can tell will definitely know it is a big boy turbo... Just curious, why would you prefer it to say only "911"?

I agree.

It's the badge of honor.

Would be like taking off the word Mustang, and just writing "Ford" or taking off 600 and just leaving an S off an S600 Merc.

Gorgeous.

Haven't seen an interior with wood before on a porsche, although I know it's available in the options area.

Beautiful spec - wow that MSRP. It's going to be quite a beauty when she arrives.

Mazel Tov!

Well, she doesn't ask a lot but when she does she pretty much gets her way, so that's how it will stay!

I didn't actually have the idea - I was talking with my SA and he suggested it. He said the simple "911" designation was a common option for the C2 in this area, so he suggested I designate it "911" sort of in the spirit of a sleeper. His description made me think of how Hellcats are hard to spot and that much more rewarding for the enthusiasts that do manage to pick them out from other challengers and chargers. I got a kick out of the idea and told him go for it - that's about all there was to it.

I don't like the aesthetic with the full model delete or with no badging at all, but thinking on it the '911' only badge is a little too short aesthetically on the back end too. Maybe the normal badging style of "911 XXXX" has grown on me. It's very easy to change though, and I can change it six times and back again for all it matters.

I'll probably forget about it entirely as soon as I get the keys.

Delivery has slid from 1/13 to 2/6/16. I had wanted special paint, but couldn't wait 3 more months. Dealer gave me 5%+ off. I plan to keep a long time so price and resale weren't such a big deal to me. Would have gone turbo, but wanted a manual. I really like the Aston Martin Vantage S with the dog leg 7 speed, but couldn't live with only dealer being over 2hrs away.

It's very Euro not to have the model in letters on the back. An aficionado knows what version you have, and those who don't know won't appreciate the difference anyway. Having written that, if I were buying a Turbo I might want to show it.

Wow! Now THIS is a respectable build! Very very nice.

Question on the Air Vent Slats in leather - does this enhance the smell of a leather interior? It must!

Very beautiful car.
